“By reaching out to someone.” I said.
“Someone? Do you really think that we can trust anyone in this crucial period. As it is now, our trust is veey expensive to just dish out to anyone and we can't afford to trust anyone right now.” Ares explained and I could see the point he was coming from.
“I understand you Ares but…”
“No, Ariana, you do not understand me well enough. It was because I trusted too much and too blindly that Valerie was able to take advantage of my feelings for her. I am sure you have not forgotten what happened in La Buena Vista because it is very much fresh in my head.” Ares said and I all I could see in his eyes was pain, hurt and betrayal.
I am sure he must have never expected that Valerie has been using him all these while.
