Before lunch was served in the lanai, Buddy, Rey, Linda and I had chatted a little about ourselves, a lot about local news and weather, and plans for the remainder of the weekend. Buddy described her Maui house in historic Lahaina as a “humble but lovely little two-bedroom number” that would take a few years to pay off. She was fine with that; there was self-satisfaction to be had in doing it all on one"s own.
