"Highschool ha! to some, the best time of their life but to others hell" Alex thought as he walked through Wagon wheels high.He had been here ever since junior high. His stay hadn't been the best ,for one he had these ugly marks on his neck that other people laughed up about ,secondly he was this weirdo with a funny voice, straight A's and he was quiet really quiet. Alex always felt this hollowness within a void he could never fill.Sometimes he would wake up in the middle of the night all sweaty and confused. He tried to make sense of this dream that he kept on dreaming. It would always start with with a girl standing next to a Christmas tree with gifts all around.Cheerful voices coming from the kitchen then all over a sudden, everything would be in red and everybody would just be dead ,the the pain would follow all through his body and he'd struggle a lot trying to breath then the darkness followed and then he would wake up ,not even strong enough to scream. Alex walked right to the front desk, took his name tag and without even stopping to say hi to Linda " his two years deskmate" he just walked into the hall grabbed a drink and disappeared into the dancing crowd."Alex," a soft voice called ."I've been looking for you all over ,can I talk to you outside please," it continued. Alex followed Aggie outside .She was the only friend he ever made in highschool and he trusted her enough to tell her his secrets. She held his hand and walked him across the hall to the soccer field, there they sat on one of the spectator bench and she finally hugged him."Alex why have you been ignoring my emails, I have news about your background, I mean it might not be true but it doesn't hurt to try and look for answers right?," Aggie said hoping to God that Alex wouldn't burst out into an argument like he always deed whenever she brought up the subject. However, this time Alex just stared at her with an empty expression. He listened to her even though as far as he was concerned, she was just making staff up even as she showed him some dead guys from police reports, he was just half attentive with the other half exploring Aggies gorgeous face oftenly stopping at her lips.He had admired her silently for soo long but he just couldn't bring himself to tell her ,he didn't wanna jeopardize the friendship. He heard her say something about a group of guys ought to kill this family back in the nineties and how they were just a tiny group within a larger organization but he didn't care. It didn't at any case concern him since as far as he knew ,he was adopted from a children's home in Wagon Wheel town years back the rest was history and he would rather it stay as such. Finally she was done talking about 45 mins after she started.Well, as for him, he was still in a fantasy world where he was holding and kissing her gently on the lips."Did you even hear a word I said," Aggie half talked half shouted."Yes, yes gangsters , lawyers ,sister and a bunch of dead guys that has nothing to do with me," he said moving towards her and finally leaving his fantasy." my life is as hard as it is right now my dad just died and my mum, well she is a tough one but right now she's broken into pieces , I haven't joined a college yet ,Aggie another problem is the last thing I need in my life right now, i mean what do you say we go back to the hall dance a bit and just go home?," he said noticing her prom dress for the first time. She had a lot she wished to say but the look on his eyes made her stop and rethink the possible outcome to her next words. She just stood up held his hand and together they walked without exchanging any other word. The hall was full and the music was almost unbearable in Alex's case.He just wanted this to be over so he could go back home to console his mum and were it not for the fact that she forced him into going he wouldn't have bothered. A gunshot sound rang through the hall, this triggered a series of actions from screaming , running , fainting and freezing people all round the hall."Everybody stop!," shouted the gunman .Everyone stopped dead and turned around."Now people i only want a guy by the name Alexander McKay and I will be on my way," he continued his voice echoing through the hall. Alex walked to the front slowly and lifted his hands to the gunman's signal as he walked him through the backdoor ,downstairs and into the boiler room. There were three others down there and two later came in one holding well more of dragging Aggie by the back of her neck. "Don't hurt her please," Alex said. He was shivering ."Shut your pie hole ,you son of a **," the gunman shouted he seemed nervous or better yet disturbed." Let's hope she falls for this because if she doesn't then we are in deep s**t," he gushed under his breath."If you ask me i would suggest we skip town or the country all together I mean you saw what she deed to the others," one of the other guys said. The gunman just stared angrily at him and he knew better to shut up."We don't need the girl though she seems to know more than enough ," he said pointing a g*n at her.At this point Alex jumped forward took the g*n from the goons hand and shot him in the head before shooting five others at which point he realized the bullets were out,he picked up a broken glass piece and cut through his throat . Realizing what he had just done , he looked around the over to Aggie she was by now unconscious and bleeding from the nose probably due to the knockout blow she had received from one of the goons earlier. He panicked and decided to run and since Aggie seemed to know much, he took her with him. A few hours later, a girl dressed all in a navy blue suit would show up claiming to be from federal government and demands to know what happened .She would then get into a car and speed away.According to police reports, the two teens were considered abducted by unknown people but , the girl knew there was much to that than they knew, all in all someone had helped her take care of some of the "unfinished business" she claimed to have .What she couldn't understand though was why they choose a specific school and the student. Alex on the other side had by now known exactly what was going on now that he had put Aggie's story into perspective, it had dawned to him that his past had caught up to haunt him.He had to find out the whole truth of his past if he would stand a chance to get through this alive. You could say he had received the revelation of a lifetime.
