BREAKTHROUGH

It had been a week since Mark met Milley and something was promising to come of the get drunk I will take you home relationship.He was getting more and more lively at work and even off work his relationship with his friends and workmates had actually became a bit stronger since he now saw the beautiful side of life.

He had Hadley noticed that it was friday already the day he and the other workmates hang out for a beer .Well it was more of a tradition which he had previously avoided but he somehow couldn't wait to go , he even offered to buy the first round.

He was just finishing his chat after the morning briefing when a man stormed into the station half walking half running before coming to a halt and talking between panting and gasping for air. "You've go...go...got to...to helllp...me, if ...you don't I am as good as dead", he gasped as he slowly cooled down.Mark was the first one to show his concern as he walked him to a site and asked him to tell his story.

He started his story with sorry if I could go back I could not do it statement then went on. Marks face darkened and his hands slowly started folding into a fist ready to strike but he refrained himself.

The mans name was Tony a friend of the past victims of whoever was taking them to their maker.He told the story of twenty one years ago when he was young and foolish. How someone paid them to kill a certain family of four , a man his wife and two kids he went on and explained into details how they went about the killing business and how twenty one years later the ghosts of the family were coming back and killing them.He was the only one left the other three were already dead.

Marks first thoughts were to use him as bait to catch the killer, after all he was the original culprit here so what if he was killed in the process.They promised him safety as they went back into the briefing room to discuss.

Every detective had their own suggestion but they all decided to take Marks plan to close the case ones and for all.After all it was not like they were putting an innocents life in danger.

So when they walked out of the room they told Tony to go home and act as if everything was normal. They promised him a protective detail would be watching to make sure no one went into his house while he was sleep.He had no other alternative he knew he was on the right hands.Detective Mark on the other hand thought that he had just hit the jackpot
