"Now, you're having s*x with the guy! I thought you said you weren't sexually active!" Mom yells.
"I didn't have s*x with Braden! That wasn't my plan..."
"Then what were you doing with Braden because his Mother said you were on top of him and he didn't have his shirt on," Mom says with an attitude.
"I had clothes on! Stop accusing me of stuff I didn't do!" I grabbed my backpack.
"Then stop misbehaving Luna, I just want the best for you."
"If you wanted the best for me then you wouldn't accuse me of having s*x," I said crossing my arms.
"Then tell me what really happened Luna."
I take a deep breath and then let it out, " I went over there to hang out with Braden and his stepbrother and then it turned to us making out on the couch."
"Are y'all dating?" Mom says.
"No, I want us to be just friends."
"I don't want you over boys' houses doing whatever you please."
"Well I'm grown now, you don't have to monitor me." I grabbed my lunch from the fridge, " I got to go to school."
"You don't want me to drive you to school? It's your first day back." Mom says concerned.
"No, I'm riding the bus today." I walked out the door to the bus stop. The bus arrived with kids already on the bus. "Don't be nervous," I said to myself. The bus doors squeaked when they opened.
I walked on onto the bus with staring eyes piercing into my soul. "Don't panic," I thought. I walked down the aisle to see Braden in a seat by himself. I looked down while I passed him and sat in the back.
I looked out the window till I got to the school. I waited till everybody got off the bus then I slowly walked off to only be greeted by Braden. "Can we talk?"
"Sure."
We started to walk and talk, "I'm sorry for what happened yesterday, it's my fault."
"It wasn't just your fault, it was mine too," I said.
"I know... I just didn't want that to ruin what we got going on." We walked into school as the hallway flooded with students making me nervous.
"Let's just stay friends for now, like we used to. I miss when we could talk about things and not feel the urge to make out." We stop in the middle of the hallway right in front of my class.
"Okay," He says sadly.
I pulled his body close to mine as I kissed him. "Thanks for walking me to class."
He smiles, "No problem."
I walked into class to get my day started.
A few hours passed and it was already time for lunch. While walking to lunch I spotted Emma walking slowly.
I fast walked to catch up with her, "Hi..."
She turns around, "I don't want to speak to you right now."
"Why? I came to apologize to you." I said.
She stops walking in the middle of the hallway. "Because you told my Mom I was pregnant!" I felt like the word "pregnant" echoed through the hallways.
"What? I never told your Mom you were pregnant." I said confused.
"Then, who did? Because the only person I told was you."
I started to think and then it came to me, "I guess my Mom told your Mom, but I would never have told your Mom."
"You broke one of our rules, Luna, "Never tell our parents about each other's business." I see anger in her eyes.
"What else was I supposed to do? You wouldn't answer my calls, you embarrassed me in front of everybody at the party and you know I hate attention! And you weren't there when I needed you the most."
"I guess you shouldn't have suggested that I get an abortion."
I felt my heart drop and then fill with different emotions, "What is wrong with you?! I was trying to be a friend!" People started gathering in the hallway to watch us argue.
"You weren't being a friend! You always want things to go your way!" Emma yells.
"I don't know who you are, but you're not the Emma I know. We arguing over something that's your fault! I didn't tell you to go out and get pregnant by Ryan!"
I could tell I went too far by Emma's expressions and then expression slowly turned to anger.
"Fight! Fight!" The crowd shouts.
Emma pushes me against the wall causing me to bump my head. "You b***h!" She punches me hard in my face. I felt a sharp burning pain around my right eye as blood dripped from my nose.
I punched her back and then tackled her to the ground forgetting that she was pregnant. She tried to grab my hair as we fought each other on the ground.
In the background, I heard, "Everybody clear the hallway, now! Get to lunch or class!"
Emma gets one good punch in before one of the teachers pulls us off of each other. I started to cry as I looked back to see Emma sobbing uncontrollably. "She was my best friend," I whispered.
They take me straight to the nurse's office. When I arrived the nurse rushed to stop my nosebleed. "We'll be back to take her to the principal office." Says the teacher.
The nurse attends to my black eye, "What happened?" I start to ball my eyes out, "I hurt my best friend."
"No, don't cry," The nurse says drying up my tears. She grabbed a bag of ice and then placed it on my eye. "keep this on your eye." I held the ice on my eye as tears fell.
The same teacher comes back, "Okay, I'll take her now." The nurse nods.
I limped to the Principal's office with the ice pack on my eye. I passed by Braden who was talking to his friends. "Wait! What happened?"
"Get to class, Braden." The teacher says.
They opened the door and I walked in.
I saw my Mom as soon as I walked in. I walked up to her and started sobbing, "I lost my best friend..."
She gives me a hug, "Everything will be okay."
The principal walks up, "Can I talk to y'all, in my office?"
When I turned around I saw Braden looking through the glass. He mouths something, but I turned around to follow the principal through a door to his office. We sat down in the chairs that were right across from his.
"Ms. Jenkins, the school is very concerned about your daughter's mental health. She just came back from suspension and now she might get suspended again. Is she taking any therapy?"
"Yes sir, she just started therapy about a week ago for her anxiety." Mom says rubbing my back.
"Okay, I hope that helps her because Luna used to be on top of her class. I don't want to see Luna fail her senior year." He says looking right at me.
"I understand. How long would she be suspended for?" Mom says with a shaky voice.
"About a week, but I'm going to try my best to get that reduced. I want to see Luna succeed."
He talks a little bit more about helping me out. Then ten minutes later I was free to go home.
