DESPITE HOW READY HE is to be home, by Alex’s last day of filming he’s melancholy at the prospect of leaving. Iceland has been a glorious adventure and is a beautiful country. In thirty-six hours he’s going to be back in L.A. After so long away, that feels hard to believe.
There’s a party that night at the bar in town with all the cast and crew. Alex stays as late as possible, hugging people and laughing and exchanging contact information as if he’s a normal guy who can have friends just like anyone else. He knows none of these people will contact him first. It’s all on him, and while that should make it easier, in his head it makes it harder.
