IN THE WEEKS THAT FOLLOW Alex is thinking, that much is obvious to Paul. Whether that’s what to do about his sister or what he has in mind for the future of their family arrangement or where he wants to take off backpacking for a week, Paul doesn’t know. All he can do is wait for Alex to tell him.
It’s not the worst thing he’s ever waited for from Alex, even if Paul has to remind himself of that some days. He’s fairly sure that whatever is going on, isn’t about the two of them and their future. That said, they have commitments to three little girls, not just one.
