10 How Dare He

1332 Words
Kael POV I swear that Seraphina Hale is the most infuriating woman I have ever met. First she refused to talk to me when she finally woke up in the hospital. I realized quickly she had heard my conversation with Orion, basically blaming her for being drugged. Thankfully, she never questioned what the hell a Beta was. I don't need her knowing what we are, since she isn't meant to be part of our world. I'm hoping that we can work through the investigation quickly, and I can choose a more appropriate Luna. I've already started setting up pack visits. I had the divorce papers drawn up the day after the wedding. They are sitting in the top drawer of my desk. Then, the day she was discharged from the hospital, I sent Orion to pick her up and she was already gone. Chasing a woman I don't even want around in the first place is ludicrous. When I arrived at her apartment later that afternoon, she insisted there was no reason we needed to live together. Because this isn't a real marriage, she insisted she should be able to remain in her apartment where her son is more comfortable. I had to fight the urge to strangle her inside her sh**ty apartment. In the end, I agreed to do whatever was needed to make sure Elijah was comfortable. I'm not sure what the hell she didn't understand about keeping up appearances. That was the whole point of the damn ceremony. I don't have time to deal with my father or the elders where she is concerned if she starts making issues for me. Now she is here in my space with her son. The kid is quiet, which is a plus, but every time I step into a room I feel like she is there. Not only is she there, but Atlas keeps telling me to make the best of a bad situation. I don't understand what his problem is, but I won't be f**king my faux wife. He should realize that she probably only agreed to this arrangement because of money. I mean having a rich daddy for her kid is probably a dream come true. I don't need to complicate things by f**king her. I've allowed Jessie, my personal omega who assists me in my home, to arrange everything she needed to avoid interacting with her as much as possible. I close my computer, needing a break from reviewing the reports Orion sent me. I wheel my way out of my office and to my gym. I need to keep up appearances. I'm supposed to be rehabbing my legs even if I can't walk. I push open the door and wheel through stopping dead just inside the room. Bent over in a pair of yoga pants that leave very little to my imagination is Seraphina Hale. My c**k twitches in my pants. I'm just about to back out when she stands and turns toward me. Why the hell did she have to be in here? She stalks toward me with her supple breasts bouncing with every step. What the f**k is wrong with me? I'm not a teenage boy who can't control his urges. She is a gold digging wh*re like her sister, I repeat to myself as she comes to stand in front of me. At least Lydia didn't get pregnant after a one-night stand. Atlas growls, and I push him to the back of my mind. "I just wanted to tell you I appreciate all you did to make Eli comfortable. He has a hard time with change. He really likes the room you prepared for him," she says. "I didn't prepare it for him, Jessie did. I simply paid for it." Her fists tighten at her sides and anger flashes in her eyes. "Well, I appreciate you paying for it then. Are you here to do your therapy for your legs? I can help with your routine. How is your pain today," she asks, effectively changing the subject. "Yes, I am. You don't need to concern yourself with my pain. Are you done in here?" "I wasn't but the room is big enough for both of us. I try to work out on my days off when Eli is at school. I was just finishing up with yoga before I moved on to cardio," she says. "Seraphina, there is no need for us to spend time together. We both know none of this is real. You don't need to pretend to give a sh*t about my therapy or offer to help me. In fact, I prefer if you didn't." "What is your problem? Why are you being such an a**? I've done nothing to deserve your sh**y behavior. First you blame me for being drugged. Then you insist Eli and I move in here, which I didn't even want to do. Now you can't even accept gratitude or help," she says. I wait for Atlas's growl at her disrespect but it never comes. What the hell is wrong with my wolf? He's acting like a h*rny teenager instead of an alpha wolf. "Let me make something perfectly clear Seraphina Hale. You are here because your sister is a soulless b**ch who f**ked me over. I have no doubt you are no better than her. In fact, you are probably worse because she doesn't have a kid that she wants taken care of like you. I'm sure you agreed to this, because you thought you'd get a rich husband and daddy for Eli out of the deal, but that won't be happening. There isn't a chance in hell you will ever make it into my bed, no matter how hot your a** is." Seraphina POV It takes a minute for my mind to process every insult he just threw at me in less than a minute. The one that hurts the most is him basically calling me a money-hungry wh*re. I've had one s****l experience in my entire life and got pregnant. How f**king dare he? Before I can overthink it, my hand lurches forward and connects with his cheek. A red handprint blooms on his skin as I pull it back. "F**k you Kael Draven. I didn't want to marry your a**. I was forced to. Everything I have done I've done for my son, but I would never wh*re myself out to any man. Especially not one whose wallet is the only way he can compensate for a tiny d**k." I turn and rush out of the room, not giving him a chance to respond. Holy f**k, I just hit Kael. I need to get the f**k out of here. I can't do this. When I turn, my steps falter and my heart drops. Why the hell is Eli here? I look at Jessie, who I notice is standing behind him. "Asya dropped him off. The school called her when they couldn't reach you. He wasn't feeling well. He wanted his mommy," she says. If I didn't already feel like sh*t after my run in with Kael. Now I definitely do for not having my phone. I rush over, scooping him up in my arms and nod at Jessie. Once we are in my room, I close the door. "Mommy, are you OK? I heard Kael being mean to you," he says. I fight the tears that threaten to fall. I set him in the middle of my bed and climb in next to him, wrapping him in my arms. "I'm fine. Kael is just hurt. The person that he was supposed to marry turned out to be a bad person, so he is upset. Sometimes, when people are upset, they hurt other people because they are hurting. He didn't mean it, Eli." "Alright mommy." "How about, since you don't feel good, we have some cuddles and watch a movie?" "I'd like that mommy” he says. But unbeknownst to me, he has other plans.
