Chapter 10

Astrid POV

Tristan sprinted towards us, his eyes had turned black adn he was headed for his brother, he was a few feet away when I stepped infront of him, "Tristan, he's not worth it, I'm fine, honestly," I spoke softly, placing my hand on his chest. My touch seemed to calm him almost instantly and he looked directly into my eyes, he examined my body and when he noticed no visible injuries he relaxed the rest of his body. "What the f**k was that?" he asked Samuel with hate in his eyes. Samuel looked at him with a smirk and shook his head, "Just keeping our Gamma on her toes Tris, need to make sure she's prepared for anything," he spoke looking directly at me instead of Tristan. "She's not your gamma anymore Sam, she is your luna, and you will treat her with respect, your silly little charade is over, accept it and move on," Tristan said proudly. Samuel just shrugged his shoulders and turned to walk away, "See you around Astrid," he said to me, giving me a wink, and with that he turned and walked away.

"What was that supposed to mean?" Tristan asked me, "Nothing, he's just salty that i beat him, yet again," I replied wrapping my arms around his waist. I popped onto the tips of my toes and pressed my lips against his. He pulled me in closer and deepened the kiss, I loved the way he made me feel and I couldn't get enough of him. He pulled away from me slightly and i groaned in protest. "My parents wish to speak with us, so go and shower and we'll head up to my father's office in 10," he said to me before spinning me around and lightly pushing me in the direction of the locker room, tapping my bottom as the distance increased. "Alright, see you soon," I said to him as I walked up to the locker room.

I walked into the locker room and it was full, everyone stopped speaking as they notice me arrive, I got looks of envy and jealousy, the whole thing made me uncomfortable. Steph popped up behind me "Hey Astrid! I saw the way you kicked Sam's ass, little s**t definitely deserved it after everything," she said, with a giggle. "Yeah, he definitely did, but I gotta meet the Alpha and Luna in 10 so I need to get in the shower, can we meet up later?" I asked her, she nodded and grabbed her things to leave. I quickly jumped in the shower and washed the dirt and sweat off of myself. I exited the locker room and Tristan was there waiting for me, "Let's go beautiful, my dad is waiting for us," He reached out for my hand and took it in his. We walked to the pack house making small talk and getting to know each other, Freya would pipe up in my mind every now and again, making comments about how perfect he was, she was definitely in love. She was telling me that she could feel our bond growing quickly, I noticed that I started to feel some of his emotions when we were close but I never really thought anything of it.

We entered the office and Alpha Christian was seated at his desk with Luna Sally off to the side in another chair. "Ah, there the love birds are, please take a seat," Alpha Christian said as he gestured to the two chairs across the desk from him. I noticed that Luna Sally rolled her eyes at his comment but i thought nothing of it. "Thanks for coming," he started, "I just wanted to go over a few things and get a timeline in order so that we can begin making plans," he said to the two of us, Luna Sally looking a little confused but not entirely. "For starters, I have decided that now that Tristan has his fated, and he's already 21, I will be stepping down from Alpha," He said, Luna Sally gasped at his announcement, I dont think she really saw that coming. "What do you mean stepping down!" she said loudly at her mate. "I know it's sudden honey but i've had enough, I know we didnt really discuss it, but i've made up my mind, and my decision is final, since the full moon is tomorrow, we will have the alpha ceremony at the next full moon," he explained.

"Astrid, as for your Luna ceremony and the mating ceremony, Luna Sally thinks you may need some training to ensure that you are across all the duties of a Luna, considering you have been raised your entire life to become the gamma of this pack," he said leaving a small gap, "your ceremony will be in 2 months time, also on the full moon," he finished. I nodded in agreement and looked at Luna Sally, "i'm really looking forward to spending time with you and learning everything I need to know to make sure I perform my duties well," I said to her. She seemed completely uninterested by what i'd said and with a small eye roll responded with "yes, well we'll see how you go, if you aren't up to scratch then we might have to delay the ceremony." Alpha Christian looked at her with a surprised expression, "i'm sure she'll do fine, she's always excelled at everything she's done," he said, giving me a reassuring smile. We were both dismissed from the meeting and left the office quickly.
