Chapter 5

Tristan POV

My mother had been spending all week organizing to have all of the unmated males here tomorrow. Both my mother and father explained to me what was happening and why, to be honest it disgusted me, I was forced ot give up someone I loved at the time to wait for my fated, yet here they are forcing a young she-wolf to be the chosen mate of my spoiled brother just because he demands it. I was devastated when Adeline wasn't my mate 3 years ago, we had spoken to one another about taking each other as chosen mates, when my father found out he put an end to that. With hindsight, I am glad he did, as they years went on Adeline turned into someone I no longer recognized, I was happy that I was not anchored to her by choice, it took me a very long time to realise that I didnt love her at all, it was pure lust.

I had told my parents how barbaric what they were doing was, but they assured me I needed a strong Beta for when my father handed the pack over to me. I assured them there were other candidates if Samuel didn't want the position, but my mother pushed for him to be the Beta, said it would humiliate him if I chose someone else. She thinks that because he's the second born that he is disadvantaged somehow and that he needs to have his every need taken care of. That kid has had a revolving door of women through his room since he turned 15, but he's always been after our Gamma's younger daughter, my ex's sister. She never showed him any interest and didn't care what family he came from, this spurred him on even more and now, here we are with him about to get his way.

The day had arrived and I excused myself from it all, I didn't want a part of it. My mother told me to stay close in case anything happened, but what did she think would happen? I watched the car arrive, I watched as my younger brother stood behind my parents, fidgeting with excitement. He was excited and hoping that her mate wasn't there. He had been bragging to his friends that he would challenge her fated for her if he was in this pack. Her father exited the car and shook my fathers hand, they were talking slightly when my mother gestured her father to get her out of the car, it seemed she wanted this to be over as quickly as possible. As her father opened the door i turned my back, not wanting to be a part of this anymore. The smell of frangipanni, vanilla and rain was faint but getting stronger. I turned around and watched her walk towards the males. "Mate, its her" my wolf Thor howled in my brain, he'd been waiting for this day for a long time. The closer she got the stronger her scent became, my mouth began to water and I allowed Thor to be present in watching this elegant beauty walk towards me.

I stood still on the balcony watching her, she had caught our scent too and was looking desperately around to find where it was coming from. As she turned and looked up to me, I could no longer stay away. I jumped from the balcony, landing a few feet in front of her, I stood up, straightened out my shirt. "Mine" Thor spoke through me. I took back control and watched her. She fought for control of her own wolf. She touched my hand slightly and tingles danced on my skin anywhere she'd touched "Mine" she said back softly. I embraced her quickly, and shoved my nose into the crook of her neck, my mate, I had found her, I was so happy, however was concerned about Adeline expecially now that her sister was my mate.

I let her out of my embrace and turned to my parents, my fathers face was full of joy and happiness, my mothers was disappointment, Samuel had given me a filthy look and stormed off, his plans were ruined and he'd now have to deal with the woman he wants becoming my luna. "Astrid" I spoke to get her attention, "Are you alright?" I asked her, she nodded not speaking a word. "How about we go inside and speak with our parents?" She nodded in agreement and we walked towards the house, her hand never leaving mine.
