Jax’s grip on Talia tightened as Seraphina stumbled into the clearing. Talia, despite being pinned beneath the heavy weight of the enforcer, locked her striking violet eyes onto the newcomer. A low, protective growl vibrated in Talia’s throat. She recognized the scent of a fellow fugitive—someone else chewed up and spit out by the cruel mechanisms of power.Jax raised his head, his crimson enforcer eyes locking onto Seraphina. "Two trespassers. One night. The execution squad is going to be busy." He reached for his tactical comms to alert the central guard. Before his finger could hit the button, a massive shadow burst from the tree line.Logan materialized in his human form, his face a mask of absolute fury. With a single, devastating sweep of his arm, he snatched the comms device from Jax’s hand and crushed it into plastic fragments."Stand down, Jax," Logan commanded, his Alpha aura flaring so violently that the surrounding pine trees seemed to creak under the atmospheric pressure.Jax froze, his dark eyes narrowing as he looked from his Alpha, to the shivering Seraphina, and then down to Talia beneath him. "Alpha? She’s a rogue. And that one," he pointed a rigid finger at Seraphina, "is bleeding silver magic. Pack law dictates—""I am the law in this territory," Logan growled, stepping directly between Jax and Seraphina, his body acting as an impenetrable shield. He reached down, grabbing Seraphina by the waist and pulling her cold, trembling body flush against his burning chest. The sheer relief of having her back in his arms sent a jolt of fierce possessiveness through his veins. "Get the rogue up. We’re moving. Now."Ten minutes later, the heavy reinforced doors of the pack house’s subterranean bunker slammed shut. The room was a high-tech tactical command center, completely soundproofed and isolated from the main mansion’s surveillance grid. Inside stood the three most powerful men in the Silver-Ridge Pack—and the three women who could bring their entire empire crashing down.Marcus was already there, having been summoned by a priority-zero encrypted text from Logan. He stood near the back, his jaw clenched, his eyes darting anxiously toward the hidden medical bay door where he had left Chloe.Talia sat on a steel table, wrapped tightly in a dark tactical jacket Jax had thrown at her. She kept her eyes fixed on Seraphina, who was curled into Logan’s side on a leather sofa, thoroughly exhausted and completely wrapped in the Alpha's scent."Explain this, Logan," Marcus demanded, his voice low but sharp with panic. "The border alarms are going off. The Elders are blowing up my phone. If the pack finds out you're harboring a magic-user, and Jax has a radical rogue in the bunker—""They won't find out," Logan cut him off, his arm tightening around Seraphina’s shoulders, his fingers lightly stroking her arm to keep her calm. "Because no one leaves this room until we have a strategy."Jax stepped forward, his massive chest heaving as he glared at Talia, who merely smirked back at him defiantly. "We can't hide three women, Alpha. Especially not when one of them is human," Jax added, his eyes snapping directly to Marcus.Marcus stiffened, his wolf flashing to the surface for a split second. "Watch your mouth, Enforcer.""I smelled her on you, Beta," Jax countered, his voice a dangerous rumble. "Chloe's scent is all over your collar. We are all breaking the law tonight. If the Lycan Council catches wind of this, it’s a death sentence for all of us."The room fell into a suffocating, high-tension silence. The three leaders—the Alpha, the Beta, and the Enforcer—stood in a tight triangle, their primal dominant urges clashing in the confined space."Then we change the play," Logan said, his voice dropping into a tone of absolute, unyielding authority that silenced the bickering. He looked at Marcus, then at Jax. "We are the backbone of this pack. If we fracture, the pack dies. From this moment on, we coordinate. Marcus, you control the security logs and scrub any trace of their arrivals. Jax, you control the border patrols and redirect them away from the cabin and the medical wing. I will handle the Council."Logan looked down at Seraphina, his thumb tracing the soft skin of her jaw, forcing her silver eyes to meet his amber ones. The physical friction between them in the cramped bunker was white-hot, an intoxicating pull that everyone in the room could feel."We protect our mates," Logan whispered, the word mates sending a visible shockwave through Marcus and Jax. "Whatever the cost.
