(Unknown's pov)
My target was here.
The Pet & Slave convention in Eden City.
I could practically feel their power burning off of them in waves.
What I hated most about this particular job is that, information, wise, I had nothing. I was simply told my target would be here tonight, and my job was to kill them. They were a danger to my bosses and his bosses' plans. Something about keeping angels locked in the gates of heaven or whatever.
I blend in with the crowd of demons easily, weaving through them, feeling for any out of the ordinary signatures. I've come up empty handed so far. My phone rings, and I pull it out, reading the caller ID.
Sighing, I walked out the ballroom and into an empty hallway. It was silent, but I couldn't be careless, especially with my status and the information, or lack of that I held. I find an empty storage room to occupy until then.
My phone rings again and this time I answer.
"Hello...?"
"What took you so long to answer?" the voice on the other line was calm. But I wasn't a fool. They were fuming about being ignored for so long, even if it was three minutes.
"Sorry about that boss." I said, tapping my foot lightly on the floor. "Had to find a place to talk."
There was a long pause, then the boss answered, "Fine...have you taken care of the target yet?"
"No, I haven't." I was annoyed. I had little to no information. All I was given was a place and what they are. No gender, characteristics, or status were on the file. "It's kind of hard when you haven't got a damn clue what they look like."
"Watch yourself. You don't know who you're talking to. I can have you eating your own intestines for breakfast by morning if you don't check your attitude. Now, the file I gave you is all we have on the target, so if you don't kill them in the next...…." there was a short pause and then they continued. " Seven hours, I'll chop you up and feed you to the hell hounds. Now, do you want that?"
"No sir." I gulp. Swallowing a lump that formed in my throat.
"Good, now get off the damn phone and do your job." The end of call beep rings through my ear as I closed my eyes and lean my head against the wall.
It was going to be a long night.

(Belle's pov)
I don't know how long we stood there, but I know it was long enough for my feet to start hurting and I needed a breather. The dress was suffocating, and it felt like It was about to burst at the seams. Looking around, I spot a door that was closed. A demon with servant attire walks out of the ballroom, and into what I can assume is a hall.
But I couldn't just leave, there were to many demons around that would notice me. I turned towards the girl that stood next to me, Ingrid. I believe her name is. I tapped her lightly on the shoulder, she turned her head slightly towards me, her dark brown eyes bore into mine with question.
"I need your help," I whispered.
Ingrid frowns and does something quickly with her hands.
Sign Language, I realize.
Ingrid was either mute or deaf.
That wasn't a problem, I knew how to sign. My brother was deaf, and our whole family studied sign language just to communicate with him better.
CAN YOU HELP ME OUT? -Me
Ingrid's face contorts in surprise. She looks around schooling her expression.
WHAT DO YOU NEED HELP WITH? -Ingrid
I NEED YOU TO CAUSE A DISTRACTION-Me
HOW? AS YOU CAN SEE, I CAN'T EVEN TALK PROPERLY-Ingrid
PLEASE ITS AN EMERGENCY. I HAVE TO US THE RESTROOM REALLY BAD-Me
Ingrid rolls her eyes and lets out a defeated sigh.
FINE-Ingrid
When a lower demon passes by with a tray of some strange, fuzzy white and blue drink, Ingrid did something I wouldn't expect from her, especially a girl her size. Then again, never judge a book by its cover, nor a woman's strength. She pushes him, yeah, that's right, a full-blown push that sent the poor demon flying a few good paces away.
The loud clatter and the shriek of demons split drinks to fill the air, causing the perfect distraction to slip by. I looked back towards Ingrid, to give her a thumbs up in thanks, but she wasn't paying attention. A smirk adorns her face and something dark flashes in her eyes, and just like that, it was gone. Maybe I imagined the whole thing?
Shaking my head, I slip through the door, and find myself in a hallway.
It was silent and there was no sign of the lower demon I saw slip in there. Making my way down the hall, I found the woman's restroom. Opening the door, I walked inside, locking it behind me, not wanting nosey visitors to see that a human like myself had left without permission. I let out a sigh and walked over to the sink.
Turning the water on, I splashed myself a few times. A sense of calmness washes over me. Looking down at the dress I wore, I tore the side where the red material squeezed the life out of my thighs, leaving a slit so they could breathe. Satisfied, I unlocked the restroom door and stepped out. The hall was, thankfully, clear. As I made my way back to the door, something grabbed me by the shoulder, and threw me against the wall.
Pain exploded throughout my body, and stars danced across my vision. I'm then lifted up by the neck and suspended a few inches off the ground. My windpipe felt like it was being crushed by metal. Through my blurred vision I could make out the arm of someone, and their red eyes.
Wrath demon eyes, I realize.
Fuck! I didn't even see them. Stupid demon stealth
Clawing at their hands for mercy, I begin to feel the darkness take over, but something warm and hot starts to form around my body, like a blanket. I saw a bright white glow, begging for me to touch it. I reach out to it not caring about the consequences.
Next thing I know, a bright light cascades over me and my attacker. They screamed in agony as I dropped to the ground with a loud thud, landing on my arm, which I'm pretty sure is broken. I groan as I blink in and out of consciousness, a headache starts to form between my eyes, the last thing I remember before passing out is the warm fuzzy feeling leaving my body and what I thought to be a dead demon in front of me.
But that's impossible, right?
