The city was glowing beyond the windows of his bedroom. I climbed into his bed feeling thoroughly spent and he came in beside me. I curled up and rested my head against his chest.
His arms came up around me and I felt myself relax. I listened to his heartbeat beneath my ear and felt the stillness of the night settle around us.
The room was quiet for a long time.
