I was up before my alarm. It was 7 am. Monday morning. I had gone back to my dorm the night before and had stayed under the covers the entire time, unable to sleep. And now…it was time. I sighed and pushed back the covers. Lia was already awake when I sat up. She was sitting on her bed in the dark with her knees pulled up to her chest. Then she got up and crossed the room and hugged me before I'd even said a word. Her arms were tight around me, and as I hugged her back, I felt how tense she was. I looked at her eyes and saw the dark circles there and realized how little she'd slept. My heart clenched.
