The door closed behind us and Lia turned to me.
I moved to sit on my bed and didn’t speak for a while. My chest now tight enough that I could hardly breathe.
“Sienna,” Lia said.
I looked up at her and saw her expression.
Worried.
Very worried.
I exhaled slowly.
"We ended up in a room," I began. "Last night, at the auction. We were—His hands were—Someone opened the door." I looked down. "Another freshman I guess…She clearly saw everything..."
Lia sat down on her own bed, quiet, as she processed what I’d said.
I looked down at the ground, feeling my throat tighten. I swallowed hard.
Lia stayed quiet for a long moment. She didn't say I told you so. She didn't say anything. She just sat there with me and I was grateful for that.
