Did Bruno only have the brains for being a lawyer? I couldn't believe how far he would go just to entangle me in his dirty affairs. He was making it difficult for me, it was true, I had underestimated him, although I didn't think he would stoop so low as to ask Jonathan for a job, when he owned the most important firms in the country.
Oh Bruno, you really are a headache, although I could be one too if I set my mind to it. And maybe I would, to see if that way he'd leave me alone.
"Am I really hearing this right?" Jonathan asked, nearly falling off his chair in shock. I didn't blame him, I would have fallen on my butt too if I hadn't held onto the nearest chair.
