“So what do I have to do?” “Find a way to get Iris here, I’ll take care of the rest.” Ammara ran off back into the campus, leaving the rest of the crew hoping she’d be able to drag Iris along when she returned. After the bright blues and purples of her kurta faded, Malam approached Leila, sprightly and beaming a bit. The index finger to a closed fist pulled her chin up, helping her gaze deep into the venom-splotched rings of Malam’s left iris. “You’ve been handling this position quite well I’d say. You’re turning out to be an even better boen than me.” She chided along to her comment, inconspicuous and unvexed.
