She nods once and turns the earrings in her hands.

“Your Highness," I start. I clear my throat. “May you elaborate?"
“You aren't as bright as you look," she says. She holds one earring up to her ear. “I'm sure I'd look beautiful wearing these on my little vacation."
“For how long?" I ask. My clenched teeth makes my skull ache.
