005: MEETING THE ALPHA

ASTRID'S POV”
I felt life drain out of me as I heard those words. Every single day for the past few weeks, I had endured the suffering and pain with the hope that she would be gone soon as she was arranged to marry the alpha of dark claw pack but now me?
That man--if he could be called a man--was known all through the city for one thing. His cruelty. He was a merciless alpha who ruled with a fist worst than iron.
He was the illegitimate son of the late alpha Marvin and was suddenly brought into the picture when the alpha died. Rumor went by that he had killed his father to take over the position but no one really knew the truth.
I didn't care about any of that because I was a human and I could not be mated with a werewolf. I didn't mind spending the rest of my life alone without a husband or children as long as I was alive and managing myself but now this?
All ny life I had lived for them, but instead they do this to me? I refused to be treated like such an insignificant being!
“No! I cannot do that! That… that beast! He is no man at all! He will kill me for pleasure and–”
A slap landed across my face so hard that I fell to the ground. I winced as I scraped my knee against the floor and the skin peeled open.
My step mother sighed. “Look what you have done! Now you are bruised!” She glared at me.
I tasted blood in my mouth and swallowed it. Immediately raising myself to my feet, I began to beg again. “Step mother, I'll do every single thing perfectly from now on! I'll clean the floors until it shines like the sky! I'll do anything else! Anything at all! Please don't make me marry him!”
Her brow arched and her lips curved to a wicked smile. “Really? Then will you become my pet dog?”
Confusion washed over me along with the thrill already in me. “D--dog?”
“I will give you to men to do as they wish with you until the day you take your very last breath. It is what I was planning anyway. The moment Leyla gets married, I was planning on making you a slut and finally make profit off you.” She explained with crossed arms beneath her breast.
My eyes widened. “Step mother…”
“Choose. If you become the alpha's wife, you will only have to be with him until you bear a son to take over when he leaves this world. An heir is all he needs. After one child! If you are fortunate enough, a son, you will be set free. But if that is too much for you to do then you are free to decline and become a slut for the rest of your life. Choose.” She glared at me.
I stood there like a fool. How could she ask me to choose between such things? Who in their right state of mind would choose to become a slut!
We were said to be futile in our family, one time should be able to get me pregnant. All I would have to bear was nine months. As much as it would pain me to leave my own child behind, I would have my freedom finally.
From my evil step mother and sister, I would be free from living like Cinderella. And one year of torture with the cruel alpha would probably not kill me.
I swallowed hard, cursing my step mother and step sister as I brought myself to make this decision. “I will… marry the alpha of dark claw pack.”
She smiled in satisfaction. “I have called make up artists to make you look pretty enough to satisfy your husband. Thank your stars you are not that ugly yourself.”
Tears trailed down my face where I stood and she ushered me to my room where I showered and sat waiting for the make up artists.
Three beautiful girls walked into my room. They overflowed with beauty that I felt so insecure being in their midst.
They didn't waste time and time and started doing my hair and make up. Several minutes later, they were finished and my step mother gave me a mini white dress that revealed most of my thighs and my breast.
It felt so uncomfortable being dressed in something so revealing. They had covered up my scars with make-up and turned me into a woman I didn't recognize when I looked into the mirror.
My hair was smoothly combed and packed behind me and my skin was as fair as ever with my lips a crimson red.
I had never worn a heel before but I managed to keep myself steady as I walked in the red bottom five inches heels.
“Remember!” My step mother growled. “Do not embarrass this family or else I will sink my claws into your throat!”
I whimpered with a nod. It wouldn't be the first time she would let her wolf injure me and that was the punishment I feared the most in my life.
Arriving at the apartment, it was more of a gigantic mansion than an apartment though. The security led me to the living room where a young man was waiting for me.
He turned around with a smug smile on his face. “Leave us!” He barked at the security and the man didn't hesitate to leave.
I knew him but faintly. He was the alpha's brother who was supposed to have become the alpha. “Good morning, sir.” I bowed awkwardly, not knowing how to relate with him.
He smirked as he walked towards me. He raised his hand and touched my waist. “Call me Kunt.”
I stepped back with a fake smile. “Thank you. I am waiting for your brother, Alpha Roshon. Please call him.”
He grinned and pulled me towards himself. “You're such a pretty thing.” He suddenly sniffed me. “Human?”
“Please don't touch me like that! I belong to your brother!” I raised my voice.
He sent his hand across my face and I yelped. Tears pricked at my eyes as I cupped my face in my hand.
He had an ugly frown on his face. “You are just a useless human! How dare you raise your voice at me?!”
“What seems to be the problem?”
We both turned around to the voice of another man and I bowed deeply as my eyes saw Alpha Roshon standing before us.
“Your bride is here.” Kunt said irritatedly and walked away.
“Please, rise, by all means.” His voice was gentle and somewhat similar but I shook my head. How would I ever know the alpha?
I raised my head slowly and stared at him. His grey eyes pinned me to the spot and my throat tightened.
His eyes seemed to squint as if wondering for a moment then they widened slightly and I felt my heart stop beating. Every ounce of blood in me dried up as I saw him and my knees grew weak.
