The phoenix healers always had that birthmark and this only helped to prove that Klein was really the person he was looking for. “Thank you so much for honouring my invitation. I'll ask the accountant to release the pending transfer and also send some more money to your account right away!” Mr. Ford said and quickly grabbed his phone to make a call. “I'm confused, sir. What's happening? What does this birthmark have to do with my getting some money?” Klein was seated with the broken necklace held tightly in his hands. He was still unhappy that it got broken, but he was powerless against those that caused the damage. But at the same time, even if he were a powerful figure, nothing could replace the necklace. Here he was, belittling himself not knowing that he was the most powerful and most sought medical personnel in the country. The necklace was still in his hands and blood dripped from the injury on his head and dropped on it. Suddenly, there was a very bright golden light. It was blinding but Klein could see the broken parts of his necklace form again and the necklace became whole and new! “What?” he exclaimed in utter surprise and confusion. How did he even do that? “I knew I wasn't wrong when I found you. That's a good sign,” Mr. Ford said, pointing at the necklace. Klein stared at him in confusion, his eyes pleading for clarity. “Oh! dear great son! You don't know how long I've sought for you! You are really a true son of your parents. Your medical skills are top notch and you are a very great healer!” Klein watched Mr. Ford, wondering what the old man was saying. “Sir….I don't understand you… what happened right now, sir?” “That shows that you are a true bloodline of the phoenix family! You are the selected one! The blood of the phoenix on a jade pendant restores broken pieces and makes it whole. That is what happened right now! You don't know how fulfilled I am that I finally found the son of my great doctor.” But Klein was still lost. In fact, confusion was clearly imprinted on his face. What was this man saying? Did phoenix healer's exist? Wasn't that some old and lame myth? What did the man mean by saying that his blood could restore and make whole broken jade pieces and other precious stones? “I'll tell you all that you need to know but I’ll need you to wash your face and apply some ointment on it.” Mr. Ford opened his drawer, handed a stunned Klein an ointment and pointed to the bathroom. Klein stood up gingerly, took the ointment and off he went to the bathroom to do as he was instructed. The bathroom was seriously decked out and Klein gasped at the sight. It had the latest gadgets and amenities that made it stand out and feel like a luxurious oasis. Klein would have gawked and taken time to observe the place but he recalled that Mr. Ford was waiting for him. "What if there's a camera watching to know if I'll touch anything?" he thought. He quickly focused on what he was asked to do. When he returned to the room, the stinging pain from the slaps was gone, thanks to the soothing ointment. Mr. Ford then proceeded to tell him what he needed to know. “Now, listen. If you happen not to understand, even the minutest details, ask me. I'll be happy to clarify you, my dear.” “I'll start from the ten billion dollar inheritance. Firstly, it's all yours and more are yet to come. The money is for your parents but as they are no more, you are the heir and I've sent the money to you.” Mr. Ford went ahead to narrate the story to him. His father, Mr. Edward was very knowledgeable in medicine. In fact, he was the great medical healer who had the phoenix blood that was only evident once in a century. Some years ago, Mr. Ford was sick and dying. Not even one person could save him despite all his wealth. Even all the greatest medical doctors in the country and its environs couldn't save him. Then, luck had it that he met Mr. Edward. It didn't take time for Mr. Edward to heal him with his great medical skills and his power as a phoenix healer. He was fine in no time but before he could pay the amount that was required of him, calamity struck. There was a fire outbreak in the Edward residence that claimed the lives of Mr. and Mrs. Edward. The fire had started from the master's bedroom and before it got to the little boy's room, people saw the fire and rushed to his rescue. The cause of the fire remained unknown and the little boy, Klein, vanished after that day. Mr. Ford asked his men to look for him so that he could pay homage to him for what his parents had done but the boy was nowhere to be found. It was only after so many years, and just a few days ago that he was told that the boy had been found. “I'm so glad that I found you. My heart will now be at rest that I've paid my debt to your father. What more, you are now the new phoenix healer. Your powers are very special and you can cure any disease. With this skill, you can make billions of dollars for healing anyone!” Mr. Ford finished. Klein stared at him, open mouthed, shocked and unable to utter a single word. Whether it was the knowledge of how his parents died, or their unique power, or the fact that he was now the phoenix healer, Klein didn't know the one that burdened him the most. “You mean, I can treat any ailment right now?” “Yes, son. Anything related to medicine is something you can handle without stress. But I also need you to know that this position comes with great responsibility and danger.” “Danger?” “Yes, danger, but it's nothing to worry about. There’s one last thing I need you to know. It’s a usual ritual to awaken dormant powers.” Mr. Ford opened his drawer and took out a small bottle and a pamphlet. “This is all you need. Take it.” Klein took them with trembling hands, wondering what the man meant and how he came about all these details. He opened the pamphlet and glanced at it, then back at Mr. Ford who was smiling warmly at him. It was going to take a lot of time to process and accept this information. “I have asked the accountant to transfer an extra ten billion dollars to your account.” “Ten billion dollars?” Klein's eyes widened in shock. Then he fell at Mr. Ford's feet and thanked him. “Thank you so much sir. I'm very grateful for your….” “Oh no! Get up, please! I should be the one kneeling to you. The position you hold as the most famous healer is way higher than mine. All I'm doing now is doing what I should have done a long time ago. I'm so sorry for not finding you earlier. You must have been through a lot.” There was a beep sound and Klein took out his phone. Truly, he just received another ten billion dollars in his bank account! A few hours ago, he was a jobless, penniless student, who was kicking up dust with his feet and thinking of how to live through another day. But now, he had twenty billion dollars right in his bank account! He was no longer the poor miserable boy that everyone looked down on. Instead, he had become someone they would fall at his feet!
