“You will attend the same school as the boys. Welcome home, dear,” Lucien declared, his voice firm as he held Mother’s hand. My eyes widened, and I stared at him in disbelief, my fingers tightening around the edge of the table. “No!” Kael suddenly snapped, pushing his chair back. The loud scrape made me flinch, and everyone turned toward him. “She is not going to our school,” Kael insisted, his jaw tightening as he glared at Lucien. “I agree with Kael. She shouldn’t come with us,” Ryder added, folding his arms across his chest as he shook his head. Lucien leaned back in his chair, his face remaining calm as he looked at both of them. “That is the decision I have made, and you will have to accept it,” Lucien stated firmly, his eyes moving between Kael and Ryder. His fingers tightened around Mother’s hand as he made it clear that the matter was settled. Kael scoffed, dropping back into his chair. His eyes moved toward me, and his face twisted with disgust. “Why should we accept it? She’s just a lowly omega, and she smells of rejection,” Kael muttered, wrinkling his nose as he looked me up and down. My heart sank, my fingers went cold, and my throat turned bitter as tears gathered in my eyes. Vanessa immediately turned toward Kael, her brows pulling together. “That’s enough, Kael,” she interrupted, placing a hand on his shoulder as she gave him a warning look. I couldn’t take it anymore. I pushed my chair back so quickly that it nearly fell over, rushing away from the table with tears burning my eyes. “Freya!” Mother called after me, but I kept walking, wiping my cheeks with the back of my hand as I hurried toward the stairs. “Freya, wait!” she called again, but I didn’t listen. My steps became faster as I climbed the stairs, my chest aching with every breath. I reached my room and slammed the door behind me, pressing my back against it as I covered my mouth with both hands to stop the sob that escaped. I slid down the door until I was sitting on the floor, pulling my knees against my chest as tears streamed down my cheeks. “I hate this place,” I whispered, hugging myself tightly as my shoulders shook. I stayed there crying until my body became weak and my eyes grew heavy. I eventually forced myself onto the bed, pulled the blanket over myself, and cried myself to sleep. Hours later, I woke up suddenly, blinking as I stared into the darkness. I slowly turned my head toward the clock and my eyes widened when I saw it was midnight. I rubbed my sleepy eyes and sat up, the events of the evening rushing back into my mind. Kael’s words echoed in my head. Lowly omega. Smells of rejection. My hands curled into fists as I stared at the floor. What if he was telling the truth? What if they really were the ruthless biker gang everyone feared? I pushed the blanket away and climbed out of bed, my bare feet touching the cold floor. A shiver ran through me as I grabbed the door handle. “I’m going to find out the truth,” I whispered, clenching my fists as determination replaced the sadness in my eyes. I quietly opened the door and stepped into the hallway. The entire house was silent, and I moved slowly, holding my breath whenever the floor creaked beneath my feet. I made my way downstairs, my eyes scanning the dark hallway until I noticed a door slightly open. I stopped, curiosity took over me and I slowly walked toward it, my heart beating faster with every step. When I reached the door, I hesitated before leaning forward and peeking through the small opening. My eyes widened. Kael was inside with a girl, and she was using her mouth to pleasure him, their moans filed up the room. I immediately covered my mouth, my cheeks burning as I took a small step backward. Oh my God. I wanted to leave, but my legs refused to move. “You know you do it better than her,” a voice murmured behind me.
