Slowly, I lower the phone from my ear. I stare across the table at Marcellus. My husband. The man who just admitted he married me for revenge.
"Tell me you didn't do it," I say, my voice trembling.
He leans back in his chair, his gaze locking onto mine.
"Do what, little wolf?"
My pulse thunders in my ears. Cecilia's gaze bounces between us, her notepad forgotten.
"Did you put Sebastian in that accident?" My voice rises. "Tell me the truth, Marcellus. Did you have him targeted?"
He doesn't flinch or look away. He only tilts his head slightly, that infuriating smile ghosting his lips.
"Accidents happen every day, Nora. Some people drive too fast. Some people have... enemies."
