Two days after the monster attack. I was back at the academy.
The training pit smelled like sweat and old mats. Same place, same walls, but I felt different walking in. Stronger. Or maybe just more tired.
Luma saw me first. She dropped the rope she was holding and ran to me. “You’re back! And you’re in one piece!” She pulled me into a hug that smelled like lavender and punches.
