He felt so uncomfortable at what his father made him do. This is not him and he would never take advantage of a woman like that. He wasn't even sure if she was a woman, royal or any of the other species for that matter. She had no tribal markings or any gills. As a royal she would have had the ability to incapacitate him but she did not. He still sat there pondering who and what she may be. His father clearly knew but he was not going to tell him anytime soon. He knew something was amiss about this girl that his father did not tell him.

He was just given clear instructions and told by his father that if he does not follow through he will kill Marina. He loved her so dearly. Would she ever be able to forgive him for what he did. He only did it to protect her and he knows that after his mother's death his father was a ruthless and heartless man. Life no longer had any meaning to him. He would take her life without any remorse or thinking twice about it. This is not the man he knew his whole life.

Queen Vaneska called a meeting to discuss border affairs and there has never been animosity between the two kingdoms till that fateful day. She took his mother's life in cold blood. She couldn't be bothered that she killed a lifeline of our kind. All our kind is connected to our leader and if they die a great number of us dies with them as the sudden drain is too much for the weak, ill, fragile, old or young to handle. That woman is an utter b***h. She just laughed maniacally as she stood over the dead queen's body, knowing full well the implications it would have on our people and that it can wipe out our species. No, she wanted exactly that and more.

It killed a piece of his father as well and he lacks any type of remorse. He refused to mourn for her after spending millenials by her side. Someone will put a stop to that woman eventually. If it had to be him, he would do it gladly. Their kingdom has now reduce significantly and Vaneska took control of a large part of it. They hide mostly and have tried to reproduce. It has been difficult as Rusha has not been kind with reproduction. His father has taken many concubines but immediately looses interest if they cannot conceive for him. He has only been successful twice. He is his mother's last child before Vaneska took her life. This must be the reason why his father has increased his responsibility and expect so much of him. Some of his brothers and sisters have died with his mother.

It all feels too much to bare and now he did the unthinkable. What would his mother say of this? She was such a loving, kindhearted person. She never wished ill on anyone and she couldn't bring harm to anyone or anything. She would not condone what his father made him do, more so, she would shun him for following through with his father's commands. She always said everyone has a choice, regardless of who says what. What has he done? He took that girl's innocence away from her. He can still remember the shock on her face. She felt extremely tight, she had to still be a virgin. He brought her immeasurable pain with what he did.

Marina has not been able to conceive but it does not bother him. He loves her. His father hates her and calls her useless. 'What is the point of the woman if she cannot produce an heir?' His words still rung in his ears. For this reason his father knows that he will do whatever he asks of him as long as he will leave Marina alone. He already hates her and it would not bother him in the least bit to kill her. It would instead bring him great joy. He did so with all his concubines as well if they could not conceive within the year. The people saw it as a great honor to be chosen as one of the king's handmaids. They thought that such a maid would be confined to the king's chambers and would never be allowed in the outside world again to keep her pure and away from any harm, but that was so far from the truth. They were kept in a seperate room, completely alone with no one to speak to. They got fed once a day and once they conceived they would be bathed daily by the other maids and fed continiously to ensure a healthy child. Only one has since conceived and the child died at birth. His father's rage overtook him and he killed her on her bed during labour. He shouldn't have because she was the only one so far to be able to conceive.

He does not understand his father's obsession with offspring. He has so many children already but yet it is not enough in his eyes. He promised himself that he will not become the monster that his father is. He would strive to be a better man.

He sits by himself pondering these thoughts over and over in his head. Things could have been so much easier if only his mother was still alive. They used to live on the land for his mother's sake. She couldn't breathe under water. She was so beautiful. He hasn't had much contact with any royals, they all must be as beautiful as his mother. This girl he r***d was just as beautiful. She was radiant with her pale colored hair, her flawless and soft skin. He wish he met her under different circumstances. Now he violated her. He could never take that back. He just hopes she is pregnant, he wouldn;t be able to do that again. He won't do it again. If she isn't pregnant, then great! She was free of him and hopefully she would forget the horrible ordeal.

He scrunches his nose as he thinks of all the nightmares she might now have because of him. He is going to break his brain with all this thinking and worrying. There is no point now, he did it already and he has to live with that decision. All this to protect the woman he loves. Was it really worth it? Was it worth his sanity?

Marina will be furious at him when she finds out. It does not matter which side he goes to with this it is bound to blow up in his face. The only person who would be benefitting out of this, and who would actually be happy is his father? His father is selfish. He is willing to sacrifice everyone around him, even his own son, for his own selfish gain.

If that girl is pregnant, which he hopes is not the case, this scenario just got a whole lot worse. She will never be safe again. His father is sick enough to kidnap her and use her as a breeding machine for all of his children. Why she is so significant to him, he would love to know. There is something about this girl. Maybe she possessed some kind of magic that she still needs to learn or she might be some special kind of breed. His father was really secretive about her identity. His most trusted advisors did not even know about her or about his plans to have one of his sons impregnate her. It said a lot.

"I am so sorry," he mutters. He could not say it enough. He just wished this nightmare would end. He can't live with himself.
