Michelle's P.O.V I finally get to go home today, the doctor kept me at the hospital for another week to make sure that my baby and I are in great condition before releasing me. I did another ultrasound before leaving and I found out the gender of the baby. I was having a girl. I was not sure what I was expecting but I knew that whether I was carrying a boy or a girl, I was already happy having them in my life already. My mom on the other hand was a different story, when she heard the doctor say that I was having a girl, she got excited more than me at that moment. She went on and on about how she is going to spoil her, about all the baby things that she was going to buy. She said that when we get home she is going to look for my old baby things; like clothes, blankets, toys and she was going to pick a room to start putting things for the nursery. My dad was also excited, he said that he couldn't wait to see the baby and that he was sure that the baby was going to look like a mini me. Throughout the entire ride home my parents were talking about setting up the nursery while I was in the back seat just deep in thought. It wasn't even hard to figure out who I was thinking about because it's always him, Adrian. When I found out about the gender, all I wanted at that moment was for him to be by my side. Although throughout my stay at the hospital my parents made sure that I didn't have any visitors, they still brought over some gifts from my friends, even from some of theirs, that wished me speedy recovery. All of the gifts were signed and every time I read a card I kept hoping that it would be from him, from Adrian. I can't believe he didn't even bother sending me flower, or a teddy bear, hell if he would have sent a 'get well soon' card that he didn't even write and all he did was sign his name at the bottom, I would have been happy about it. I have my tablet with me, well it's a new tablet since the old one was destroyed in the accident along with my phone. I tried linking the tablet with my details so that way I can get my emails and messages but mom refused saying that I might read something that would make me upset and delay my stay at the hospital. So all I was doing was just watching movies and some series, lately I have been binge watching Asian series and movies, and all I can say is that I am obsessed. I became so happy when we entered the gates at home, I actually felt myself become relieved and all the tension that I had in my shoulders went away. But I was a little sad as I kind of hoped to see Adrian waiting for me. It doesn't matter, all that is important is that I am home where I can relax and not have a constant reminder that I was in an accident, as I have felt for the past two weeks. Mom helps me get out of the car even though I keep telling her that I can walk by myself, she doesn't budge and continues helping me in the house and straight to my bedroom. She was holding me firm but gentle when we climbed the stairs, and even helped me get in my blankets. "Mom, I am tired of laying down in bed," I complain to her. "it's just for a few hours so that you can rest and then after you can get up and go anywhere you want," she says. "You mean..." "Around the house and outside but not out the gate," She tells me sternly as if reading my mind because I was going to ask if I can go back to my apartment. "Now just relax, I will go and make you something to eat," she kisses my forehead and then leaves the room. I take the remote and switch on my TV so that I can continue with my series. Milan's P.O.V (Michelle's mom) Walking down the stairs heading towards the kitchen I hear my husband speaking on the phone. He sounded serious and irritated. "Do not let him get through the gate and if he keeps on persisting and try to come in by force then call the security to escort him out. I hope I am being clear!" he says, then drops the call and loosen his tie. "Honey, what's the matter?" "It's nothing," "Really? It didn't sound like it was nothing. You even want to call security," I walk over to him and start massaging his shoulders while he was sitting on the couch. "It was the guard at the gate, he said that Adrian is here again and refuses to leave because he saw our car coming in," he says. "Okay, so why did you refuse to let him in?" "Because he got our daughter pregnant and now whenever I see him I just get angry thinking he somehow made our daughter upset," "Why would you think that?" I ask him. "Have you noticed that in the last week since Michelle woke up, she hasn't mentioned his name other than the time when I asked her who the father of the child was?" he asks me. I didn't want to tell him that I noticed it too because that would fuel his anger and he would leave the house right now, go straight to Adrian's house and threaten him. "No I haven't noticed, all my attention has been on our Michi getting better," I tell him. "For four days he kept coming here with his parents demanding to know which hospital she was in as if she is their child, then after that he keeps coming here all the time. Does this boy not have school or classes to attend, seeing as now my daughter can't go to her classes," "He is just worried about her and the baby..." he cuts me off. "NO he is not, when he came here with his parents he only asked about Michelle and not the baby, which means that he doesn't care what happens to it," he says. "IT?" I ask and stop massaging his shoulders. "I mean the baby," he gently taps my hands wanting me to continue with the massage. "Our daughter is safe and so is our granddaughter, they are finally home and that is what we should be focusing on," "AAAAAGGGGGGGHHHH!!!!" he groans and then stands up. "Where are you going?" I ask him. "To the gym, I need to get this anger out," he says already taking off his tie. I don't understand why gets so angry about this, we will deal with this after Michelle has settled in. I get up and start walking to the kitchen when I remembered he said that Adrian was at the gate and I don't think he will leave any time soon. I walk over to the phone that connects directly to the guard house. It rings for a few seconds until Jefferies, our guard, answers. "Hello," he says on the other side. "Hello Jefferies, is Adrian still there?" I ask. "Yes mam', he refuses to leave or even move his car from the front gate," "Please give him the phone," "okay please hold on," I hear him tell Adrian that I wanted to speak to him. "Mrs. King," Adrian says. "Adrian, my boy, please go home," I tell him as gentle as I can be not wanting to sound harsh. "Mrs. King I just want to see her, please it won't even take 10 minutes," "Adrian, listen to me, Michelle just got home today and she still needs some time to get settled in. I will tell her that you came by and she will call you when she is ready to see you," "But I..." he tries to protest but I cut him off. "She will call you when she is ready to see you, for now there is nothing that I can do. Please consider her and the state she is in now," I tell him indicating about her pregnancy. "*sigh* Okay I will leave, thank you for talking to me Mrs. King," he says. "It's alright, have a good day," "Mam' should I call off the security?" Jefferies asks me. "Yes please, there will be no need for them," "I will do it right now," "Thank you," I hung up the call and make my way to the kitchen to make something for the three of us to eat for lunch. Michelle's P.O.V I felt myself being shaken gently awake I didn't even recall falling asleep, I guess some of the medication from the hospital is still in my system. "Michi, wake up, I made you something to eat," "How long have I been asleep?" I ask looking around trying to find out the time. "For about 40 minutes, I was busy cooking and I made one of your favourite, chicken pasta with extra cheese," I immediately sat up after she said and waited for her to give me the plate. Hospital food is not appetizing at all, even for a private hospital. She hands me the plate after making sure that I was sitting comfortably before I could even dig in she reminds me to eat slow, but how can she expect me to do that when the aroma that comes from this plate is just mouth watering. "Here is some juice that I made for you, I will come and check up on you later," she kisses my head and then heads out. I finish all the food, drink my juice and then settle in my blankets again while continuing watching my series. Eventually falling back to sleep only to be woken up by my mom again as she brought me my dinner. ~~~~~~ The next two days were the same routine; mom waking me up for breakfast then after eating I go and take a bath, get dressed and come back to bed and just watch TV until mom brings me lunch, later on some snacks and then finally dinner. Today I woke up feeling tired of being in bed all the time, so after taking a shower and getting dressed, I go to the kitchen to eat breakfast with my parents. "Good morning mom, dad," I greet them. "Morning Princess," dad comes over to me and give me a kiss on my forehead and goes to sit at the dining table. "Morning Michi, why did you come down I would have taken the food up to you," she says while dishing up breakfast. "Well I got tired of being in my room all day long, I want to stretch my legs," "Okay then please go sit at the table I will bring you your plate," she says. "Okay," I walk to the table and sit on a chair that is opposite my dad's. "How are you feeling today, Princess?" he asks while looking at his tablet. "I am much better today, I have more energy," mom walks in with our plates. My dad got a delicious English breakfast; fried eggs, toasted bread, bacon, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and coffee. While I got yoghurt with strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and a mango juice. It wasn't that I was complaining but why don't I have that breakfast but instead have this, how can I put it... snack, this is a snack. I was about to ask mom but the smile on her face when she handed me my food made me hold back my complaint. "Thanks mom," I said and she nodded. She went back to the kitchen and came back with her plate that had the same breakfast as dad's. As much as I wanted that type of breakfast, the smell of eggs was starting to make me a little nauseous and I knew then that if the eggs were closer to me I would have ran to the toilet to throw up. I drank my juice and it helped. Throughout breakfast my parents talked among themselves about what they needed to do for the day; their meetings and some projects they were working on. "I think that I'm just going to work from home today so that I can be close when Michi needs me," mom says and that pulled me out of my thoughts. "You don't have to do that I will be just fine, and when I need something I will call you... oh right, I don't have a phone," I suddenly remembered. "I will buy it for you today, then send my assistant to come bring it to the house. You just tell me which one you want," mom says. "Thanks mom, I will think about it and tell you before you leave for work. And if I need something I will ask Mrs. Anderson," Mrs. Anderson is our housekeeper and I call her auntie because she is like family to us. "Okay I will try coming home early to see how you are..." she says but I cut her off. "Mom, it's fine you can take your time at work and when you do get home you will find me here, it's not like I'm going anywhere," I try to convince her. Don't get me wrong, I love being at home and close to my parents... But for the two months that I have been living by myself, I had gotten used to being in my own space. I haven't seen anyone else other than my parents, doctors, and nurses for the past two weeks. I wanted some time alone in the house seeing as I can't go back to my apartment any time soon, I was starting to get a little suffocated by them. "Alright see you later, Princess," dad stands up from his chair, and comes to kiss me good bye on my head but instead I give him a fist bump, he looks at me weird and gives me a fist bump back then heads out. Mom soon follows but she forces a kiss on my head before leaving, with all the kisses that I am getting from the both of them I am afraid that I might end up having a bald patch on my head. Right now I am all by myself, well not including the housestaff that was going around the house cleaning. I had grown tired of my TV and tablet, I wanted fresh air. I walk to my room and pick up my favourite book from my book shelf and go sit at my balcony. The scene is beautiful, my room is on the third floor and my balcony overlooked our backyard. I can see our garden that is full of different coloured flowers, the crystal blue water from our pool, the sparkling water from the fountain, and the green from the trimmed grass and trees. It honestly looks like a beautiful painting come to life as the gardeners are working around the yard. Later Mrs. Anderson brings me juice with crackers and cheese. "Thank you auntie but I would have just come down to get them," I say to her while already munching on the crackers. "It is no bother dear, your mother told me about your pregnancy and I thought that this would help with any morning sickness," Ahhhh I just love this woman so much. "I'm glad that they told you but aren't you mad at me?" I ask, wanting her honest opinion. "It came as a shock when she told me but no I am not mad at you, you are a grown up now and there is no such thing as a perfect time to have a child. I was just like you, I had my first born during my first year at college but had to drop out to take care of him..." she pause when she said that. "You miss him don't you?" Mrs. Anderson's first and only child died when he turned 10 years old, I don't know what the cause was and I am afraid to ask as it might bring up the painful memories. "Every day but I don't regret deciding to keep him or even dropping out of college because it was the best decision of my life and I wouldn't have it any other way because it brought me to you," she says and cups my cheeks in her hands while kissing my forehead. "Babies are blessings and not a mistake... Oh I wanted to tell you that you have a call downstairs from the main gate," "Okay I will go get it now," I say and walk with her downstairs, I turned towards the front door while she made her way to the kitchen. "Hello, Uncle Jefferies," I greet our guard. "Hello dear, I have someone here who wants to see you," he greets back. "Who is it?" "It is your friend Shantelle," he informs me. Shantelle is my best friend and like a sister to me. We grew up together ever since we started kindergarten, and we have been inseparable ever since. I got excited hearing that she is here to see me, I wanted to tell her about my pregnancy as I can't seem to talk to my parents about it. "Okay please let her in," I tell uncle Jefferies. "She is not alone, she came with..." "It's fine just let them in please," I interrupt him as I am just too excited about her coming over and I'm sure she came with one of our other friends. "Okay, I will let them in," he says and I thanked him before dropping the call. I walk back to my room to change into something more comfortable. I dressed in a big sized shirt, black leggings with my Gucci slides and went downstairs. When I enter the living room I see Shantelle standing facing me and we run towards each other engulfing in a warm hug. "Ohhh I'm so glad that you are okay," she says with her voice sounding muffled. "I'm just happy to see you, thank you for coming," I say still not letting go of the hug, it just felt so good. "I would have come see you at the hospital but your parents wouldn't budge about giving me the name of the hospital that you were in, so I just had to wait until you came home. And you know that patience isn't my strong quality," we laugh when she says that. "Yes that I know... Wait who did you come with?" I ask as we let go of each other. Without saying anything she looks towards the couches and I turn to see the person who she was looking at. My smile fell when I saw that the person was none other than Adrian.
