“Wow…” The word escaped my lips as if it was only reserved for that person. I stood staring into the most beautiful eyes that I had ever seen in my life. Chips of glacial blue chips were lined along the rim of his pupil. Towards the center deep Blue Ocean caved in, as if pulling the captor into the depths of the unknown magic.
I stood there bewitched until a strand of his hair fell in front of his eyes. Shaking my head I resumed my vision on him. My eyes wandered off again to his eyes. The gaze was cold and sharp but there was unusual warmth to it. The kind where you would feel warm when you stay away but it was luring you into it to get burned.
“…cuse me! Hello! Excuse me!” He waved a hand in front my face as I came out of my daze.
“Are you alright?” A mesmerizing voice made me look up. WHAT IN HELL!?
As much as breath taken I was by the voice, double was the heart break. I stared into the most charmingly beautiful face. With semi-dark eyebrows and those soul appeasing eyes, a nose so defiantly defined and a jaw line so sharp and cheek bones as if plastered just in the right place, it all came to a closure at the warmest shade of fluffy pink lips, all the features etched on a fair white background. I was so tempted that I put out my hand to touch her face. I jerked out of my daze, again, when a hand held my wrist.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
Did I mention why I was heartbroken? It’s simple. That person was not a ‘he’ it was a freaking ‘SHE’! I couldn’t ever imagine I would be this heartbroken but nonetheless drawn to someone, especially a girl. She looked into my eyes with a questioning look on her face.
“Are you okay? Can you hear me?” I broke out of my daze, again, for the fifth time in a row. I wobbled in my place. Gathering my wits I decided to actually say something. This time, deciding not to look into her eyes I replied, “Yes.”
“You don’t look okay to me,” holding my hand in one of hers she got off her bike. She walked from the other side to my side, still not letting go of my hand. Coming to my side she held my other hand and bent down to take a look at my face. My eyes met hers again. I could see concern clouding her face. How can someone look so freaking beautiful! Her brown almost black hair fell blocking her gaze on me. Oh my Goddess! Am I gay?
“Can you walk?” she asked helping me stand straight.
Instead of saying anything related to yes or no, nonsense escaped my lips, “Are you a goddess?”
Throwing her head back she laughed at me as if I was a clown of some sort. I stood there dumbfounded as she kept laughing clenching her stomach. Wow! She looked heavenly!
After her laughing fit, she got a hold of herself and stood straight facing me.
“I’ve heard worse, but that was something totally hilarious,” she said, the smile still not leaving her face.
“How come you’re so beautiful then?” Another stupid question.
“Thank you for the compliment but I guess it’s the genes,” she said going around her bike to the other side. “And I would say the same for you too.”
I blushed at the comment. What is wrong with me? Am I really a lesbian? But if I am, why now? I’ve dated like four guys and I really felt attracted to them.
I straightened my shoulders and said proudly, “I agree with you on that. My mom was absolutely a beauty.”
“No doubt,” she said swinging her leg over the bike. Oh my Goddess, her voice, even that was beautiful.
“Do you like girls?” Oh come on what the f**k is wrong with me!!
“Should I hate them or something?” Raising her left eyebrow she looked at me like I was crazy or something.
“No I didn’t mean that. You know like ‘like’ ‘like’, you know what I mean,” I rolled my eyes as if that was the most evident thing anyone asks.
“Oh! No! I’m not lesbian,” she looked sad, “I’m sorry if I hurt your feelings. I’m so sor-”
I cut her off, “No! I’m not a lesbian either! I was just asking.” She looked at me still not convinced.
Not letting another stupid question escape out of my mouth, I stuck my hand out for her to shake, “By the way, I’m Janet.”
Taking off her gloves she took my hands for a shake, “Pleasure to meet you. It’s Alex”
“Whoa! Your hands are so cold!” I gasped taking her hand in both of my hands.
“And yours are so warm!” She gasped too, relief overtaking her face, as she held on to my hand more tightly.
“What were you doing here, standing in the middle of the road, all alone? I asked her still not letting go of her hand.
She let out a small sigh, “I’m supposed to go to this…” she searched for something in her pockets with her other hand, “Got it!” Showing me the piece of paper she said, “Pikehill High School, do you know where that is.”
I smirked, “Well what can I say? You have met just the right person,” I chimed in swaying my head from one side to other.
“Do you go there?” she asked me. I nodded my head. I could feel the happiness behind her voice. Maybe she’s happy because she got a friend?
“So you are a transfer student I guess?” I asked her as she took the helmet off the mirror into her hands.
“Yup,” popping the ‘p’ she continued, “And I think I found just the right person to show me around,” she said handing me another helmet.
I looked at her questioningly to what she implied.
“Don’t you need a ride? Are you going to walk there?” She asked raising her left eyebrow. God, how did she do that!
“Yes that’s what I’m planning on,” I replied back in an evident tone.
“Just hop on. I need a navigator anyways. I left my phone back home,” she said as if it was just nothing. I was scared by the thought of riding a bike myself let alone riding behind someone’s back.
“No, no. I don’t want to die so young,” I declared handing the helmet back.
“Oh come on for God’s sake.”
Pulling my hands she put the helmet on my head. I stood there still like a statue as she adjusted the straps tightly, “There,” she said, “We are all set." Putting the helmet back on her head she arched her head sideways indicating me to hop on.
“Have you ever given anyone a ride before?” I asked before getting on. She nodded her head up and down two times. Swinging my leg over reluctantly I adjusted myself to the vehicle.
“Has anyone fallen off from this thing?” I asked, still adjusting to sit properly.
“Well not till now.” My eyes went wide and by the time I decided to get off she shouted back turning on the ignition, “Hold on! I’m going to give you the ride of your life.” And off we went.
