Chapter 3:The Hidden Power

326 Words
The classroom was completely silent. Nobody moved. The mysterious girl slowly stepped forward while students stared at her in fear. Her long black hair moved gently even though there was no wind. Alex felt his heartbeat getting faster. “It’s you…” he whispered. The girl nodded slowly. “You were never supposed to see me.” Jay grabbed Alex’s arm nervously. “Bro, who is she?” Before Alex could answer, the classroom windows suddenly exploded open with a loud crash. Dark smoke rushed into the room like a living monster. Students screamed and ran toward the door. The mysterious girl raised her hand. “Stay behind me!” she shouted. Blue light burst from her palm, pushing the dark smoke backward. Alex watched in shock. He could not believe what he was seeing. “What are you?” Alex asked. The girl looked directly into his eyes. “My name is Luna,” she said softly. “And people like us are called Shadows.” Alex frowned. “People like us?” Luna’s expression became serious. “You have the power too.” Suddenly, the dark smoke formed into a giant shadow creature with glowing red eyes. It let out a terrifying growl that shook the classroom walls. “There he is…” the creature hissed. “The lost heir.” Alex stepped backward in fear. “I don’t understand any of this!” The creature rushed toward him at full speed. Without thinking, Alex raised his hand. A bright silver light exploded from his body. BOOM! The shadow creature flew across the classroom and smashed into the wall. Everyone froze in shock. Alex stared at his glowing hands. “What… did I just do?” Luna smiled slightly. “The power has finally awakened.” But before she could explain further, the school building suddenly began shaking violently. Then a deep voice echoed through the darkness. “Find the boy… before midnight.”
