Dance with Death

Poppy Jess pulled me to the bar, Darren and Nox met us there. I took a good look at their masks and attire so I could find them if need be. Jeez, look at me. Already fawning over a man, I just met. My phone buzzed, snapping my attention away from my thoughts. I pulled it out. It read ‘Unknown’. Curious, I swiped up, entered my passcode, and opened it. “Don’t you dare.” - Unknown Is all that was in the body. I looked around, confused. Jess saw my expression and leaned into me. The club was loud, so we had to be within inches of each other in order to hear. “What’s up?” She practically screamed. I winced as I looked at her. I closed my phone, locking it and putting it back into my purse. “Nothing! Wrong number!” I shouted as she nodded, grabbing our drinks and handed it to me. An absurdly tall man plopped down next to her. He was sporting a skull mask... his hair was dark and slicked back. I c****d a brow, straining to look around to catch a glimpse of him. Darren tapped my shoulder, bringing my attention back to him. “So, what’s your name!?” He shouted as he swirled his drink. Jess moved to the dance floor with Nox as I sat there nursing my drink. “I’m Poppy!” I leaned towards him, my shoulder brushing against his. I felt a tingling sensation rush up my core, causing me to blush. Sheesh, I never felt this way, even with Jake. I sipped my drink as Darren slightly pushed into me again. “Wanna dance, Poppy?” His words slithered into my ears seductively as I vigorously shook my head yes. He chuckled, extending his massive hand for me to place mine in. I grabbed my purse, slipping it around my wrist as I placed my hand into his. The music was intense techno, the bodies on the dance floor mashed against each other. The vibes that everyone was emitting was an exotic one, causing my face to flush. Darren placed his hands around my waist, pulling me into him. We ground up against each other as Jess was rubbing her backside against Nox. She ended up glancing up at me, mouthing “HOT” towards me. I nodded in agreement as my body started to sweat as Darren leaned down, nipping my ear, causing me to shiver. “Mmm, you smell delicious.” He ran his hands down my backside, grabbing a handful of my butt, causing me to push into him. I could feel his erect self as I chewed my lip. What in the world has gotten into me? I gasped as he ran his hands to the edge of my dress. I shoved him away, stumbling a bit. “EXCUSE ME! I NEED TO... USE THE RESTROOM!” I shouted as I spun around, fighting my way through the grinding bodies. I could have sworn I heard the man growl as I walked off. I stumbled out of the sea of writhing bodies, landing at the bar. I tried to calm my breathing as I asked the bartender where the restroom was. He pointed down to the right. The hall was dimly lit, and it sent every nerve in my body on high alert. I thanked the bartender, pushing off the bar and heading in the direction he pointed. I made my way down the hall, rubbing my arms up and down as I found the women’s restroom. Sheesh, I only had one drink! Why am I acting like a s*x deprived teenager?! I huffed as I opened the door, making my way into a stall. I took a seat on the toilet, not needing to go, just needing to calm my nerves. My phone buzzed as I leaned my head back. I fumbled with the zipper on my purse, opening it and pulling it out. “Hey girl! Where’d you go?!”- Jess “Just in the bathroom, not used to this kind of attention!”- Poppy I hit send as I placed my head between my knees. Something did not feel right. I heard two people enter the restroom. There was a lot of moaning involved as I tucked my feet up onto the toilet. Ugh, of course. Do I stay here, or do I move? Taking a deep breath, I decided to leave. I flung open the stall door, heading to the sink to wash my hands. As I reached for the paper towels, I noticed the culprits making out against the wall. The man had his mouth on the woman’s neck, her face looked like she was enjoying it. I walked past them, glancing over at them. My lips pursed together as the color drained from my face. He pulled away from her neck, looking at me as blood oozed out of his mouth. I quickly snapped my head to the door and scurried out of there. I tripped into the wall, bracing myself, wincing from the sharp pain in my wrist. The... f**k?! Making my way to the bar, still processing what I just saw, I ran into Darren. My face landed squarely in his chest. His smell wafted into my nose, causing my mind to go blank. “Everything alright, Poppy?” His words were low and gruff, but sexy as they entered my ears. I chewed my lip, nodding, trying to push away from him. He gripped onto me tightly as he guided me to the bar. I shook my head to get rid of the blurriness I was experiencing. Why is it I’m feeling this only around him? I plopped my head down on the bar, taking in deep breaths as the bartender slid me a drink. I weakly raised my head and groaned. “Oof, you’re a lightweight. One drink and you’re tapping out?” Darren smoothly said as he placed his hand on my thigh. I took a sharp breath, my brain telling me to leave, but my body was betraying me by sending tingling sensations through my body. I slowly slid my legs open as Darren ran his hands upwards. “Poppy!” Jess yelled, causing me to clamp my legs shut. A grumbled erupted out of Darren as I quickly turned to face her. Nox was kissing her neck as he ran his hands up and down her body. I shot up, moving to her and grabbing her hand. I yanked her away from him. “Jess! Can I... talk to you?!” I yelled as Nox locked his eyes with mine. I could have sworn they were glowing. Confusion ran over my face as I pulled Jess away from him, taking her to the back of the club, where it was less busy. “Jess, doesn’t something seem off?” I asked, not needing to yell in this corner. She swayed as she whined. “Awe, come on Pop’s! Stop being a downer.” She pushed into me. I grabbed her by her shoulders. This wasn’t Jess. She’s normally so good at making sure I’m comfortable in clubs, but she’s been too busy grinding on a dude she just met. She’s a floozy when she wants to be, but she wouldn’t be this way on my birthday. “Jess, can we please leave?” I asked as my eyes caught a glimpse of Darren and Nox making their way to us. I felt dread as I saw them. “Please, Jess!? For me!? For my birthday!?” I shook her. She seemed to snap out of it slightly as she looked around, dazed. Panic set over me as the two men got closer. I grabbed her, dragging her to the right to try to get outside. There were no exits back here! What?! I guided her back towards the bar, wiggling our way through the writhing bodies. “Where ya running off to?” I halted as Darren grabbed me by the shoulder. “Oh, uh... just trying to get some fresh air!” I shouted as I nervously chuckled. He licked his lips as Nox took Jess’s wrist. My body felt a wave of intense pleasure run over me as he pulled me closer to him. I chewed my lip as he leaned into my ear. “Not yet, little red...” He huskily whispered into my ear, causing my body to shake, goosebumps spreading like wildfire all over my arms. My knees buckled as he grabbed me, holding me in his arms as he leaned towards my exposed neck. I don’t know what happened, but someone yanked him off me. I fell to the floor as my vision focused. There was an all-out brawl going on around us. I quickly hauled my ass off the floor, grabbing Jess and dragging her out the door. Jess shook her head vigorously as I leaned on my knees, panting. What... the f**k!
