Poppy
I can’t believe this man is in my bed. Better yet, I can’t believe the past couple of days. My brain was swimming with all the information I just learned, causing me to get a headache. I wanted to deny everything, just chop everything up to crazy coincidences.
“Nope, you’re not crazy.” Damian chuckled as I pursed my lips together. I will not get used to the fact he can just... invade my mind at will.
“Oh, better get used to it, because I’ve been doing it for months.” I pushed away from him, but he refused to let me go.
“Ugh, Damian...” I protested, even though I knew I didn’t mind it. I’m only really acting stubbornly because society nowadays says these kinds of men are dangerous. So why am I so perfectly fine with having a man like him screw me and please me in ways I’ve never had?
“Ooh, because sinning is the best part of living...” He grabbed my chin, tilting my head as he planted a kiss on me. He pulled away as he grinned. “You, my dear, have horrid morning breath.” He laughed as I hid my face in my hands. Asshole.
“Unhinged asshole at that.” He let me go as he flung his legs over my bed, standing up in one fluid motion. He strode to my side, extending his hand to help me up. I did not accept it. I will keep some dignity. I huffed as I stuck my nose up in the air, heading to the bathroom.
“Hmm... some dignity? Like how you...” He snuck up behind me as I stood in front of the mirror. He snaked his hands around my waist, gliding them down towards my crotch. “You had SOME dignity while you were shamelessly spread in front of me?” He nipped my ear as I blushed, pushing away from him.
I started brushing my teeth as he stood behind me, staring at me intently through our reflection.
“Must...” I said as I spat the contents into the sink. “You stare at me?” I sighed out as I cupped my hands, bringing water up to my mouth. I swished as he grinned.
“Yes. I’m technically one hundred- and sixteen-years old mic rosu. And in those years of being alive, I haven’t been enthralled by ANYONE like I’ve been by you.” He leaned forward, his lips brushing against my ear. “There’s something...in you that pulls me to you.” He leaned back, smacking my ass as he left. What... the f**k!
I finished up in the bathroom, popping my birth control pill as I turned around. He was smugly sitting on my bed with his eyebrow c****d at me.
“You know you won’t need those.” He smiled like a child in a candy store. Jesus.
“And why is that?” I folded my arms, thinking I was oh so smart. My expression dropped when he stood up, stretching.
“I shoot blanks mic rosu.”
My jaw dropped as he laughed, exiting my room. I covered my face, cursing as I headed to my drawers to get dressed. I met Damian downstairs in the kitchen as he roamed around my small living space. He reached up, running his finger over my door frame.
“Sheesh, do you ever dust?” He rubbed it on his pants as I rolled my eyes, pouring my cereal. He plopped down in the chair across from me, staring as I put my spoon in my mouth.
“Do you ever blink?” I questioned after I swallowed my cereal.
“Na, don’t need to. After a while, certain body functions cease to react to the neuro impulses.” He leaned on the counter, tilting his head curiously at me.
“W-what do you mean by that?” I took another bite as his eye twitched. Still has that going for him.
“It means simple everyday things our body does stop.” He leaned back, lifting his shirt up as I dropped my spoon.
“See, my chest rises up and down because it’s something we do involuntarily. When I was alive, I didn’t stop and kept telling myself to breathe. I just did it.” He dropped his shirt down, grinning. “Everything still functions, but the longer we’re... dead, the more our muscles stop taking those signals. Our brains still fire the impulses and tells our muscles what to do, but eventually, it dies.” He shrugged as I picked my spoon back up.
“So, you still feel pain?” I slurped my milk off my spoon as the corner of his mouth curled into a snarl.
“Stop that... The crunching and slurping are...” He shuddered, shaking his head. “Sends an ick through my bones.”
I made direct eye contact with him, picking my bowl up and slurping as loud as I could. He flung his head back, placing his hands over his ears.
“I never liked that as a human.” He mumbled out as I placed my bowl in the sink. “And yes, we fell pain...” he stood up, leaning over the counter and grabbing me. Damn, he’s tall! He pulled me forward, licking my lower lip as he growled. “And we feel pleasure.” He snapped his teeth like a shark in front of me. I sucked in a breath as he let go of me, sitting back down.
“So, you were turned when you were how old?” I questioned as I leaned on the counter, swirling my finger on the surface.
“Twenty-six. I’ve been a vampire for ninety years; I’ve been alive a grand total of one hundred and sixteen years.” He leaned forward, scratching his nose. My eyes landed on the scar on his face. I found myself reaching out, poking the tip of his nose. He flinched slightly, pulling his head back.
“Sorry...” I meekly apologized as I retracted my hand. He scratched his cheek as he averted his gaze from me. Oh? I found something he’s not comfortable with?
“Oh, no, it’s not that...” He flashed a toothy smile at me, shattering my confidence of finding a c***k in his armor.
“You won’t find one mic rosu,” he chuckled. “I fight monsters for a living.” He reached over, gliding his thumb over my chin.
“Is that how you got that?” I asked, my interest piqued. He sat back down, sucking his teeth as he pondered his answer.
“I got this before I died. Our bodies end up frozen after we’re turned, so we can’t really... alter it.” He started as he drummed his fingers on the counter. “I got this when one of my girls caught me in bed with another.” He nervously chuckled. My stomach sank as he said those words. Does that mean he’ll cheat on me?
He shook his head. “No, mic rosu...” He locked his gaze with me as I felt my heart skip a beat. “What I did... what I was when I was part of that group is completely different from what I am now.” A soft smile formed on his face as I pushed away from the counter, avoiding his gaze. He sighed, standing up and moving toward me.
“We’ll continue this conversation...” He wrapped his arm around my waist as he hovered his face over mine. “When I take you out?” He licked his lips as he stooped to my neck, his teeth gliding over my exposed skin.
I held in my breath as I expected him to clamp down and start driving my nerves crazy. His bites didn’t hurt at all, they actually... turned me on.
“Oh?” He whispered as dragged his tongue over me.
“Can...you stop doing that? I’d like some thoughts to myself...” I mumbled out as I struggled to not melt under his presence. He swiftly picked me up, setting me on the counter as I gasped.
“No. Sorry, I can- sort of shut if off but you’re just...” He huskily replied against my neck as he clasped my thighs. “So... delicious, inside and out Poppy.” I groaned as his teeth pierced my skin.
