Nova I quickly dropped my hands from Jett’s hair, and whipped around to see my mother running toward us with her vampire speed. I jumped back to let there be space between Jett and I, but he turned toward me protectively blocking my mother. She glared at Jett, and tried to grab my arm, but Jett took another step in front of me, and let out a growl. I hadn’t ever heard him growl like that; so defensively of me.
