A Reconnection

Though the hour we had gone to sleep was late, we both woke well before the early bell. I stirred before him, realizing the needs of my body would not be ignored and rushed to the water room, making sure to move as carefully as I could to not disturb his sleeping bulk. Thankfully I was rather close to one of the rooms, making it easier for me to do the things I needed. In the summer the stone was pleasantly cool and I wished that my room was as cool. By the time I got back to my chambers he had shifted, not longer on his back with his arm open for me, he was on his side, facing the door, his hands reaching in his sleep as if for me.
