Chapter 32 Not Sentimental Over Luxury Cars

1304 Words
Robert immediately went to the room where Adele was, picked her up in his arms and left. He didn’t want to stay in the house for even another minute. It took a long time to get a taxi but they finally arrived back at Bush’s home.   All he wanted to do was go back to his dormitory and sleep, but Abby and her family insisted that Robert stay the night with them. He explained some of what had happened, he left out the explicit details.   Donald and Abby looked at each other and then she asked, “So, you beat Jon?”   "Yes," He was a little confused, he knew Jon was a rich kid that went to Portledge. He didn’t understand what the big deal was.     "Robert, you’d better not go back to school,” Abby sighed.   "Why?" Robert was even more confused the more Abby spoke.   "The principal of Portledge School... has the same last name, Ossoff..." Donald said sadly.   "Hold on, you mean, Jon... is the son of the principal from my school?" Robert frowned.   "Yes," Abby nodded.   "Their family doesn’t like people gossiping, that is why nobody knows but the teachers and several high-level officials. They wanted Jon to be a normal student without any special attention.”   "Mike Ossoff is his father and he not a very kind man. He can be cruel and to top it off, they are one of the most powerful families in New York,” Donald warned, “Robert, I suggest you transfer to another school immediately. Especially, now that things aren’t going well with either the James or Ossoff families. We will help you figure it out the best we can, but if they try to do something to you, I don’t think our family will be able to protect you here!”   Robert smiled faintly, "Well, no worry, they can't do anything to me. If they plan something, then I have my way out. As for leaving this school, I will think about it."   He turned to Abby, "Skip class tomorrow, and come with me to get a car, please? It is really not convenient living without a car.”   ** The next morning, Robert and Abby left and went to a car dealership. They left Adele sleeping off all of the alcohol she had drunk the night before.   Robert was not interested in an ordinary car, he wanted something unique. There was nothing that he liked it the first few dealerships they visited, so they decided to try the Lamborghini location next. There were not many customers that ever visited the shop, so the few salespeople that were working spent the majority of their time in the back room playing video games. Nobody even noticed when Abby and Robert walked in, finally someone yelled without looking at them, “What can I help you with? Are you just coming to get your picture with the car, or do you actually want to buy it?”   Before Abby replied, Robert stopped her and smiled, “Let’s look around and make our decision.”   One salesperson put his controller down and walked up to them, “Neither of you looks rich. I have games to play!”   "What? They are so rude!” Abby said disgusted, turning to leave, she grabbed Robert’s arm, “Robert, let’s go check other places!”   Robert pushed her hand away, "No, we will look here!"   He walked over to a bright blue Lamborghini, looking closely he said, “It looks pretty cool!”   Abby reached out to touch the front hood of the car, but a salesperson stopped her. The man snapped, “Hey, don’t touch that car with your dirty hands! You couldn’t even afford the paint! You two should go to the low-end shop down the road. This is a luxury dealership, not for people of your financial ability. You could probably afford a compact car, or maybe even an SUV, right?”   "Did I say I can't afford this car?" Robert questioned and slammed his fist down on the hood of the car.     "Hey, don’t f**k around here!" The salesperson yelled at him, "I am warning you. Do you know how much one punch on that car can cost you? Hundreds of thousands! You need to pay to fix that because I am not explaining to my boss!”   The other employees ran out to find out what was happening.   "f**k! Why can’t we just have a calm day and play our games? Go get the manager out here to punish this little fucker!”   "Yes, he has to pay for it! If not, our salary will be deducted!”   Some of the other salespeople ran to block the door and stop Robert and Abby from leaving.   After a few minutes of waiting in silence, the manager strolled out to the salesroom. He was furious, “Did you seriously damage this car? I am going to kill you!”   The manager had a thick iron rod in his hand, “Hey kid! Can you afford the car? It is $20,000,000, there is no way you have half that much money!”   "Oh?” Robert punched the car hood even harder a second time. The entire front end of the car was horribly damaged.   "Are you crazy?" The manager ran towards Robert, "You either give me the money right now for this car or I am calling the police to have you arrested!”   Robert glanced around casually, he saw that there were eight in the showroom. They didn’t have many available, after all, there wasn’t much demand for cars that expensive.   "Would you sell this store?” Robert asked calmly.   “Sure, why not? It will only cost you four hundred million and then it can all be yours!” The manager joked, assuming Robert was poor.   "But, from what I understand, this store is part of a larger chain. You are only the manager here, so you don’t have the right to buy or sell,” He turned to Abby and said, “Do you know who is owns this store? The Bush family should be friends with him, right?”   Abby nodded then flipped through her phone, “I think we are acquainted with him. Give me a minute!”   She handed Robert the phone when someone on the other end answered, he explained, “I want to buy this specific store. I will give you $400,000,000!”   The salespeople were stunned, they had no idea who the rich young man was and neither did the person on the other end but there was no hesitation, “Of course! It is all yours!”   "Well, I will transfer the money to you soon," He hung up and looked at the manager and other employees. Mocking their attitude, Robert said, “As poor people, how dare you come to work here every day? You are truly brave!”   Then he pointed to the manager, "You are fired!"   "You... you can’t fire me! You might have just bought this shop, but you can’t fire me! You have no right!” The manager stumbled. "Don’t I?" Robert smiled.   After a few moments, the manager’s phone rang. He nodded as he heard the person calling telling him he was fired.   "How is this possible?" The manager was so irate that he slammed his phone on the ground, “We will see about this!”   The other salespeople were trembling with fear, the job was their source of income and if they were fired they would have no money at all.   "Hey, what should we do now?” An employee asked obediently, “Please don’t fire us! We need this job!”   "Hmm, what should you do?” Robert looked around at the other cars, “Smash the rest of them now!”
