Chapter 19 To Kill a Ghost Every Ten Steps

1348 Words
Robert knew if he started kissing Jessica he might not stop. He was speechless and unable to move, Jessica smiled proudly, then pressed her lips against his.   "Well, you’ve kissed me!" She pouted, and seemed to be completely content.   Robert felt even more embarrassed and uncomfortable, but chose not to say anything.   As the clock approached midnight, the two walked to the mountain.   "Here…" Jessica looked at the big black hole, frowning.   Robert asked suspiciously, "Jessica, what's wrong?"   "I... I escaped from here... There is a very powerful ghost inside. It wants to marry me. I, I am afraid..." She sat on the ground, hugging her knees and said fearfully, "Robert, let's go back. If it finds out that you are with me, it will definitely kill you!”   Robert smiled at the scared girl, he bent down and carried her in his arms, “Don’t worry, before it kills me, I will make it apologize to you! I will ensure that it repays you a thousand times over for how it treated you in the past!”   "Robert, you are the best! But I don't allow you to die..." Jessica clung on to Robert’s neck as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I won’t," Robert said then checked his watch, it was exactly midnight. He climbed into the hole, still carrying Jessica. The black hole was almost the same as a thief hole, first it went down vertically three or four meters, then it went to the left and right.   As soon as Robert and Jessica entered, they saw a tomb passage straight ahead. The passage was covered with blue bricks, and the walls were painted with various murals. It seemed that this was really an ancient tomb, but it had been stolen.   Robert put Jessica down and they walked along the passage for a while, but they didn't see any ghosts. Robert was confused, the system said that it was a Ghost’s Nest so why was there no ghosts. He was walking and was about to say something when a hand covered his mouth.   "Hush! Robert, look ahead!" Jessica made a gesture and pointed ahead.   Robert glanced intently and saw a tomb in front of them, inside of which was brightly lit. A group of ghosts wearing armor, holding spears, bows and arrows and other weapons were having a barbecue. On the fire, there was a scorched corpse, and they cheered and danced some kind of strange ethnic looking dance.  At the end of the bonfire, there was a luxurious golden dragon chair, on which sat a fierce ghost twice the size of ordinary ghosts.   It must be the BOSS of the Ghost Nest.   After glancing at the dancing ghosts, a light screen appeared in front of Robert.   Category: Ghost Soldier Level: 3 HP: 300/300 Features: Ordinary soldier of the lowest rank in the ghost army, militant   It was really interesting, the level of the little ghosts had been raised by two levels. Robert wondered whether he would encounter the hidden BOSS. He gently squeezed Jessica’s hand and then took out the divine level cross. He wanted to kill the ghosts one by one, but he thought it would be a bit boring, so it was easier to complete the task in one swoop.   "Jessica, watch this firework! You will be mesmerized!” Robert told her and took out ten Fiery Runes, throwing them right into the tomb.   Within a few seconds, there was a loud bang, and the entire ancient tomb seemed to tremble. At the moment the Fiery Runes exploded, a blood red bloom filled the air, then the blue smoke was visible as it scattered in all directions.   “Robert, what was that?” Jessica looked at Robert astonished, but gripping his arm and cuddling up to him. The shock wave from the explosion was enough to kill all of the Ghost Soldiers and the system chimed:   "Congratulations on the host for killing 50 Ghost Soldiers and getting 500 points!"   "Congratulations on the host for killing 30 Ghost Soldiers and getting 300 points...!”   Rubbing his forehead, Robert knew that only the BOSS should be left. He held on to the Divine-level Cross and pressed ahead. If the BOSS dared to show up, Robert would kill it immediately.     When the smoke dissipated, Jessica pointed to the tomb and shouted, "Robert, something is coming from that direction!”   Robert looked at it intently, and saw that the fierce ghost sitting on the golden dragon chair was holding a spear and walking slowly toward them. It walked very slowly, and every step seemed to be heavy and powerful.   Category: Ghost Level: 15 HP: 1,500/1,500 Features: Inferior officers in the Ghost Army, having strong combat effectiveness but move slowly   It would be a piece of cake to deal with, Robert thought as he rushed at the ghost. He didn’t want to waste any time on an insignificant battle, he just needed a hint on whether or not the BOSS was going to show up.   In an instant, Robert passed by the ghost. The divine level cross in his hand drew a few lavender ripples in the air, which seemed normal. However a crackling sound echoed as soon as the lavender air touched the ghost. It wailed as if it was being electrocuted and flashes of bright light spewed out of it. Then suddenly, it fell to the ground, turned into white smoked and was gone.   Once again, the system chimed:   "Congratulations on the host for eliminating the ghost and getting 1,000 points!"   "Congratulations on the host for killing the BOSS with one shot and locating the hidden BOSS!”   "Congratulations to the host, the Sword Method to Kill Demons can be upgraded now, but it requires 5000 points. Do you want to upgrade?"   Of course! Although Robert did not want to lose the points, he was happy to upgrade. The Sword Method to Kill Demons was very powerful, it could kill a Level 15 ghost in an instant with its strength.   "Congratulations on the host for successfully upgrading the Sword Method to Kill Demons with 5,000 points deducted. The current level of the Sword Method to Kill Demons is 2."   Robert wondered how powerful the upgraded Sword Method to Kill Demons was, he couldn’t wait to try it. The ground shaking violently, as if an earthquake was happening, snapped Robert back to his senses.   Neither said a word, but both he and Jessica saw a large monster squeeze through the wall of the tomb.   Category: Ghost the General Level: 20 HP: 2.000/2,000 Features: The general in the ghost army; one punch from him can kill thousands of people   The general was only five levels higher, Robert thought to himself. He was confident though that the Sword Method to Kill Demons at Level 2 could kill him easily.   He smiled at Jessica, “This may be too bloody for you, you better not watch!”   "Oh, okay," Jessica replied and closed her eyes.   "Little Jessica..." The ghost looked at Jessica with its protruding eyes and began drooling. But when it saw Robert, his appearance changed, "Who are you and why are you with Jessica?”   Robert shrugged, it was obvious the general was the one in love with Jessica. It would be best to deal with him as soon as possible, to spare it the trouble. He set a goal for himself, kill the ghost in ten steps. Robert rushed forward, holding the sword as if he was a warrior counting his steps; one step, two steps, three steps… finally he reached the tenth step. Jessica had her eyes closed tightly, she could only hear the sharp sound of a sword being drawn from his protective cover. It became quiet, she slowly opened her eyes to see the ghost kneeling on the ground, begging for his mistakes to be forgive. However, it was too late, its body slowly slipped lower to the ground and it was cut in two.
