Chapter 10 The System Did It

1309 Words
"What, what bet? I don’t know what you are talking about!” Anthony began to play the fool.   "You don't know?" Robert smiled, and the group gathered around Anthony., "It's okay; I am sure you will remember in a few days. I am in a good mood now, so I have a small gift for you."   Robert stretched his arm out and quickly grabbed Anthony by the back of the neck and pulled him close.   "Get away from me!" Anthony was suspicious of Robert's actions; he knew he was up to no good, so he pushed him and ran in the other direction.   When he was a good distance away, Anthony turned back, “Robert, I will kill you one day!”   What Anthony didn’t know was that the Ghost Collecting Rune was attached to him. Even if he realized and tried to take the rune off, it was too late, the small ghost already attached to him.   Robert stood motionless, watching Anthony running further and further.   "Robert, you are just let him go?" The boys questioned.   "He will have back luck with him," Robert smiled, turned, and left.   The sun was rising, and he had to rush back to the Bush home to save Adele.   The gangsters looked at each other and then lost puppies, began to follow their hero, “Robert, can we be your assistants?”   "Go away!" Robert didn’t want anything to do with him. He only helped them before because he wanted to teach Anthony a lesson. He never took them seriously; they were only acting to gain favor with him. Plus, anyone who was being bullied and still afraid to resist was not worth his time.   The gangsters were shocked; before they could try and convince Robert to give them a chance, he was already gone.   When he reached the Bush’s, Robert and Abby immediately went to Adele’s room. Lord Bush and White quickly followed behind them.   "Do you have a way?” White was shocked.   "What do you think?” Robert didn't show him any kindness at all, and then he took out the Anti-Ghost pill.   Lord Bush and Abby stood by and said nothing, just silently watching him. Abby knew that her father had a great prejudice against Robert and was ready to fire him and hire someone else to help her sister. If she hadn’t persuaded her father to give Robert a chance, he would have been out on the street.   Robert was about to put the Anti-Ghost pill in Adele’s mouth, but the system said, “This pill must be taken with the Yang spirit. If not, it will be counterproductive and kill the recipient.”   Stopping dead in his tracks, Robert swore under his breath and began to ponder what he had to do. Taking it with Yang spirit meant that they had to…   He looked over at Abby and others standing in the room. If he had to have s*x with Adele, they would surely kill him.   "System, what do I do?” Robert questioned in his head before acting too impulsively. He couldn't allow Adele to be killed by improper care; he was so confused about giving her the pill.   "Under special circumstances, the system will help the host to complete the task!" As soon as he heard the words, Robert felt as if he had been shocked, and a powerful force took over his body.   "System, please do not do anything that will have me harmed!" Robert prayed, his hand went to his mouth, and he took the pill.   "Robert, are you crazy? Isn't that medicine for Adele?” Abby was shocked.   Robert didn’t want it, but it was the system. He wanted to cry out and tell Abby what was happening, but he was unable a word. He looked at Adele, then leaned over and kissed her on the lips.   Suddenly, Robert felt a breeze in his pubic region that flowed upward and into Adele’s mouth, taking the pill with it. He was scolding the system and yelling in his head, “It was the system that is controlling me! This is not me!”   However, Robert was captivated by the softness of Adele's lips and her refreshing breath. His first kiss was with such a beautiful girl; it was worth it. He wanted to enjoy it for a bit longer, but the system stopped controlling his body, and he almost fell on top of Adele. Robert quickly stood up and looked at Abby, who was glaring at him.   "What... what did you do to Adele?” There was a tremor in Abby's voice.   Donald Bush was furious; if Abby and White hadn't stopped him, he would have beaten Robert.   "Sir, look! Miss Adele is awake!" White suddenly pointed to the bed and exclaimed.   Everyone forgot about the kiss and turned to Adele; she blushed and asked, "Abby, Dad, who is he?"   "His name is Robert. You were put under a spell, and he came to save you. He is my friend," Abby spoke softly and looked at Robert. Her eyes seemed to say, "He just took advantage of my sister, though!"   Robert instinctively knew what Abby's glance meant; he was too embarrassed to say anything.   After asking Adele’s nanny to watch over her, the group went downstairs. Lord Bush's anger had diminished a bit when Robert explained that he had no choice but to save Adele in that manner. He left out the part about the system controlling him, though.   "Well, I see then. Thank you for saving my daughter's life," Lord Bush was much kinder to Robert and then asked White to bring him a blank check.   After several pen strokes, he tore off one of the checks and handed it to Robert, "Master Robert, this is your reward, $3,000,000. If you require any help in the future, please feel free to reach out.”   "Keep it! I am not interested in money,” Robert smiled.   Lord Bush thought Robert was a fool, but he had no idea that Robert had wasted $3,600,000 on slapping people for fun.   White was extremely jealous of the generous offer. He would never earn that much money, even if he worked day and night for the Bush family. The day before, he had looked down on Robert, but when White saw Robert save Adele and turn down the money, he wondered if he had been wrong to do so.   "Well..." Lord Bush was a bit stunned. He thought Robert would be grateful for the money and never expected him to snicker at the offer. He couldn't have more money than the Bush family, and if he is so rich, why is he an exorcist, Lord Bush thought. Thinking of how he insulted Robert, Lord Bush wanted to slap himself, “Master Robert, I apologize for how I treated you yesterday.”   Just as Lord Bush was about to get up and bow, Robert shook his head and said, "It doesn't matter now! However, Lord Bush, there is something I would like you to help with; can you help me to study at Portledge School?"   "No problem, Abby, you are a teacher there. You can handle this matter with Mr. Robert," Lord Bush agreed immediately.   Abby nodded. "Well, Robert, I'll take you to the school now and tell the director of the Academic Affairs about your request. I think he will be open to speaking about it.”   Robert wanted to go to Portledge School mainly to inquire about more haunted news, and secondly, to protect Abby. After all, Abby offended Bruce James and Anthony because of him. If he wasn't there, he didn’t know what either Bruce or Anthony might do to her.
