Damien's POV
There was a rumor that some rogues were caught roaming around your pack late at night.
Alpha Alex was seated right in my front asking silly questions with a Sarcasm tone.
Ever Since he arrived hours ago he had been hell bent on knowing everything about the pack affairs, just because he was sent by some silly werewolf committee involving pack elders to make pack inspections. We kept discussing every topic he could think of from politics to business to security and all.
He decided to know every little information about every pack member which I gave him a go ahead but he still wasn't done testing my patience and underestimating me.
How does the rogue who was caught roaming around concern you? I asked him, my voice etched with disdain.
You do not talk to an alpha that way Damien. He shouted at me and I laughed at his stupidity.
Look here old man, I said standing up. This pack, my business who I decide to kill and who I decide to spare is none of your business. I sneered at him.
Not like I ever care, he said with a smug face. I have a business deal to discuss with you. But I need to ask you this important question.
I raised an eyebrow, and he smiled at me before adjusting to his chair.
Can I trust you? He said, pissing me off as my anger rose to its peak.
Do you need me to remind you that I am not my father? I am only here listening to your silly questions and watching you display your stupidity because of my father, and you have gotten lucky this far because you are a friend of my father.
You do have the guts to talk about trust Alex, I yelled right into his face. It seems you have forgotten who is right in front of you, I said in a deadly tone.
When talking about fine attributes, losing my temper is one of the best traits I had got. Am glad I got that anyways as it comes handy and at the right time when I need it.
He scoffed, then stood to face me. I don't need to know who you are, I haven't seen you but have heard much about you. You are ruthless, evil, and a beast, but still you walk in the shadows of your father.
You are nothing but a coward Damien, that's why you ended up being a beta, he screamed at my face.
I lost all my tempers as my long sharp claws came to view and I charged at him like a predator.
Before he could react I had landed my claws on his body and they crashed into him. I could hear the sound of bones cracking before his face wrinkled in pain.
He couldn't show his pain, he was an alpha after all. I picked him up and threw him against the wall.
You must have forgotten the old man I said as I approached him. I am not just the son of an Alpha but the son of two alphas, therefore alpha, I am not only stronger, faster, but also more powerful than you are. .
So don't f*****g get me angry else I will break your damn bones bits by bits and send them in sacks to your family.
Is that clear? I barked at him and he nodded.
Great. So if you want to put your life and money on the line, then proceed with whatever you have to say and don't ever ask for my trust again but if not kindly leave my presence am sure other packs will be more than willingly to accept your business deal.
He just kept on looking at me like I had suddenly grown a horn or two, while being breathed deeply.
You were cursed since birth, I heard. The man said in a raging breath and I smirked.
No actually it was since o was in the womb alpha, by your goddamn goddess's and guess what I asked as I took the cigarette in my hands into my mouth and blew out a long puff into the air. He choked on his breath as I did so.
Guess what I love the curse I said laughing out loud while he stared at me in disbelief.
Let's get back to business, when are you leaving Alpha? His eyes widened in shock. This must be the first time he would be walked out of a pack
I don't care if you are sent here by the elders or not, neither do I care about the disciplinary committees. It's not the first time o had been summoned nor would this be the last.
I only leave here when the elders order, he said. I nodded in agreement .
Maybe I should cut off your two legs then send them to the elders that way they would know you didn't try to leave on your own accord.
Thinking I was joking, he kept looking at me till I brought out a Cutlass with blood stains from a drawer and he gasped.
He stared at me, eyes widened till I almost got to him.
I have Xenon he shouted, I stopped on my tracks, Xenon! That's a very rare ancient resource that helps to shield a werewolf pack from outsiders, it's been widely used during the olden days but it's difficult to find now causing exposure of many packs to hunters, vampires and humans.
I will send twelve of them to you tomorrow evening, so please let me stay here till tomorrow morning. He pleaded.
You know what I can do if you don't fulfill your words. He nodded and I helped him up to his feet.
Yeat, that reminds me. Your wife and children are living on that private island you bought years ago right? I threatened.
He looked at me surprised, nodded angrily and walked out with his suitcase in his hands.
The name of my pack is Blackwood, my father was supposed to be alpha till I turned seventeen.
Once I was seventeen, I was supposed to perform some rituals to be able to become an alpha but I refused due to the goddess curse on me and the hatred I had got her as well, this made the goddess reject me as an alpha since I refused the oath of allegiance.
Too bad, but it was a happy one for me as I never wanted to be an alpha anyways.
Damien, I turned back to see Jake walking in. The girls are around, he announced. Jake had been the closest person to me since I was Ten. The alpha wants you at base 7.
How
The girls? I chorused. I had expected only one girl. Which is Lucas's, that son of a b*tch, he still couldn't protect his girl from me but let her slip away despite the message I sent to him.
Thanks for his carelessness.
His body was washed off the shore this morning sir, he dropped the bombshell.
Fuck, I banged the desk in front of me with..h my fist. Let's get going, I announced as I hurriedly grabbed my car keys and walked past him.
Base 7 is well known as a training ground but it is regarded as a death zone for any stranger brought here. That's the rules. All members know that if anyone helps a stranger escape the penalty is death.
About the girl that was brought in with Lucas. She was with Lucas' girl in the same car at the time of the kidnap.
The alpha wants you to eliminate the other girl, he said gently.
What? Why do I have to be the death giver or lifetaker? I replied annoyingly.
I was still angry at whosoever killed Raphael, that person must have known about his mission.
What will you do about Lucas' girl, Jake asked. Till we get there Jake, whatever happens before I get there is not my concern but what happens when I get there. I replied harshly.
Getting to base 7 one of my father's boys took us to the room where the girls were held captive.
Jake gave me my gun before I entered the room where the girls were held hostage with my father with them.
I saw my father crouched in front of a girl, looking around the room I saw the other girl at a corner of the room, her hair scattered and her eyes scanning the whole room.
The look on her face says it all, she wasn't a bit scared of my father.
Still oblivious of my presence she glared at him intensely.
Kill her, my father ordered walking up to me while pointing at the girl he was talking to.
I moved close to her and she whimpered, she kept shifting towards the wall behind her like she was going to enter the wall. Her ginger color type of air caught my attention and I ran my eyes through her delicate body.
Suddenly she raised her eyes to look at me, once our eyes met I felt like I was floating into her round green eyes, my heart began to beat fast and I felt sweat dripping down my face. She was having a great effect on me, one that I couldn't explain.
I wished to hold her delicate frame and give her a cuddle till she fall asleep in my arms.
I felt trapped by her eyes and the beautiful scent coming from her.
Without hesitation I lowered the gun and for the first time I was ready to break a rule.
What are you doing Damien, kill her my father shouted
I can't. I said
Why
She's my mate, I told myself.
