Chapter One

Leah Jones and I have been friends for as long as I can remember. We lived next door to each other even before we were born. My mom always joked that she gave birth to the two of us coz of how inseparable we were. You see Leah's mother left when she was only 5 years old leaving behind Leah, Mr Jones and Leah's big brother Trent who was a year older than us so the two Jones kids were practically raised by my parents. Not that Mr Jones wasn't a good father coz he was. He just thought his kids needed a mother figure in their life so they spent most times at my house. I was an only child so I loved having them over. It was like having siblings. But not to worry, in the beginning of freshman year Mr Jones met Molly (a nice single mother who owns a coffee shop)at one of our school meetings and hit it off. Trent and Leah adored her and by the end of Freshman year Molly and Mr Jones got married and Molly and her son Ashley moved in with the Jones. The three kids have gotten along great together for the past year. Leah, Ashley and I are now juniors while Trent is a senior. Leah has always been the outspoken, confident and social one out of the two of us. With blond hair and blue eyes, she's your typical Malibu Barbie. She's a cheerleader and has a tonne of friends at school. It's not that I don't have friends too,I do, really. Well most of them I met through Leah but I'm just not a people person. Leah's the only exception. Trent and Ashley are both on the football team at school so they run in the same circle as Leah. Except for him having the body of a jock, Trent would be the male version of Leah. Ashley on the other hand has brown hair and piercing green eyes that I could get lost in for days and his body... Don't even make me go there. Okay so I used to have a little crush on Ashley but that was before he became totally off limits since he became Leah's stepbrother and that would be really weird.And besides he doesn't see me that way anyway. Me?I have long black hair, brown eyes and I wear glasses except for when I'm playing I wear contacts. I'm part Asian,I just turned 17 and I'd be your typical nerd but I love soccer. I'm on the school soccer team. My name's Emily Chan and this is my story.
