"He agreed?" I asked, skepticism dripping from my voice.
Liam didn't look up from his laptop. He was typing furiously, finalizing the electronic submission to the Enforcer tribunal. "He signed the papers this morning."
"That doesn't make sense," I muttered, pacing the length of the study. "Three days ago, Dante told me he would never join a pack. He said he was a free agent. Why would he submit to you now?"
Liam stopped typing. He leaned back in his leather chair, a small, triumphant smile playing on his lips.
"He asked about the immunity clause," Liam said. "He wanted to know exactly how far the pack's protection extends to its members."
