I retreated to the sanctuary of my bathroom to change into pajamas, locking the door out of habit—and a newfound sense of self-preservation. Standing at the sink, I reached for my toothbrush and froze. There were two in the cup now. My familiar pink one, and a sleek black one that definitely hadn't been there this morning.
