I didn't move at first. The door slammed hard enough to rattle the frame and then there was nothing. Just silence with weight in it. I slid down the wall until I was on the floor, knees pulled to my chest, and stayed there. My heart was still going too fast. My skin felt flushed and tight, the places his hands had been still warm in a way I couldn't reason away. My lips felt swollen. My wrists ached faintly where he had pinned them. None of it hurt. That was almost worse. I don't know how long I sat there. Long enough for the shock to become pain. Long enough for the pain to shift into something duller that I could finally breathe around. When I pushed myself up my legs were unsteady beneath me. I went straight to the bathroom and locked the door. The mirror was unforgiving. Nose red
