As I scan the living room, every detail stands out to me, familiar yet strangely alien. I'm in a place that should feel like home, but the surrounding air is heavy and suffocating. What was once a safe haven for Aamon and me now feels like a prison. Aamon's hand slips from my shoulder, but I barely register the loss of contact.
