Chapter 19

Damien,

I feel so relieved that the pack leaders know about Laney. I know that they will continue to keep her safe.

Once everyone left and dad stayed behind. I knew that something was up.

"What is it dad?" I asked with a worried tone. I then turned on my computer.

"Son, the council will be here in a week. We need to double the guards around the borders but also have 2 follow Laney. Be discreet of course, but they need to keep her safe." said my father.

"Dad, I can keep her safe.." "Son, I know you can, but you also have a pack to run, and you can't be with her 24/7 and she can not stay in the pack house her whole life." Interrupted my dad.

I know that he is right, I can't keep Laney locked up in the pack house, and she can't follow me everywhere either.

"Okay, but I want someone who is loyal to the pack 100% and also who is mated." I said.

"Son, I think it we should use someone that is loyal and dependable, also someone we know. We will have Charlies cousin Dean be her guard." Dad said.

"No, not Dean. He is a player." I told dad.

"Son, he will protect her." Said dad.

I know that he is right. Aiden growling in my head. 'He will not touch mate.' Said Aiden. 'I know, but he is the best option to protect her when we are not around.' I told Aiden.

"Alright, go ahead and bring him in." I said.

Dad went ahead and mind- linked Dean to come to the office.

I mind-linked Laney to let her know I will be a bit late tonight for dinner.

There was a knock at the door, "come in," I said. Dean walks in I stand up and walk towards him. Dean bows, "Sir, Alpha." Said Dean while bowing.

"Dean, I have a very important job for you. I want you to be future Luna Laney's bodyguard." I said to Dean.

"Sir?" Said Dean looking at me a bit confused.

"Okay, look I know that I had a drunken moment at the bar, and yes it was in a human territory, but I kept our secret."

"Dean, this is more like a promotion. Not a punishment, I need you to keep Laney safe. Can you do that?" I interrupted Dean.

"Yes sir, when do I start?" Said Dean.

"You will start tomorrow." I told him, "you can go" I said watching him leave.

"Alright dad, I am done for the night. I want to have dinner with my mate, who just mind-linked me that it is ready. I will see you in the morning, we will go over the schedule for Laney." I said then left my office.

Laney,

Once I left Luna Angie and Lauren, I came back to the cottage and prepped dinner. I then started a load of laundry and cleaned up a bit.

Time to make dinner. I decided on making Stuffed Green Peppers with homemade croissants. Turning the oven on I started slicing the bell peppers and getting them ready to steam in the oven. I then browned the hamburger meat and sausage then set it aside and started getting the water for the rice going, while cutting the veggies I received a mind link from Damien, he is letting me know that he will be a little late.

'It's okay Laney, keep cooking.' Said Nia.

'I know, I am just a bit sad, but yet I know that this will be normal once he is Alpha.' I said to Nia.

I continued cooking, after the peppers were stuffed I sprinkled cheese and put them in the oven for 20 minutes.

'Do you think Damien would like a glass of wine with dinner, should I go for a candle lit dinner?' I asked Nia.

'He will like whatever you decide you know that.' Said Nia.

She is right, he would love anything. I decided to set up the table for the two of us, with the everyday china and I decided to go with the ice water and option for wine. The timer went off and I went and pulled the peppers out of the oven. They look and smell wonderful.

'Hey, I just want to let you know that dinner is ready whenever you are.' I mind linked Damien.

I made both our plates, and then sat down and started eating.

After about 5 bites Damien walks in. I see him and smile, he notices the food then goes to the kitchen and washes his hands then comes to sit at the table.

"Dinner looks amazing." He said then takes a bite. "and Delicious" I smile at him, and continue eating. "Thank you."

We finished eating dinner, and I started to clean up. Damien grabs my waist and pulls me towards him and kisses me mindlessly. I wrap my arms around his neck, and pull him closer to me. He stops kissing me, and whispers in my ear, "We can clean up after." Then lifts me up and I wrap my legs around his waist. I smile at him then he kisses me again.

We walk towards the bedroom, while kissing he then moves to my neck. We then end up in the bedroom, Damien drops me on the bed I bounce and I couldn't help the squeal that came out of me. I laughed and noticed that Damien was smiling as well. He then starts to undress himself and I do the same. He then stands there in all his glory, and stares at me, I see love, and Aiden trying so hard to come through.

Damien pushed Aiden back and then lays down next to me and starts to kiss me. I shift a bit and move on my back and Damien then moves on top of me and I feel him near my sweet spot. Damien stops kissing me and whispers "I can't wait much longer." He then enters me and I moan so loud and hold on.

We both finished, and I swore that I saw fireworks. Damien lays next to me and pulls me towards him and we both fall asleep.
