The Alpha's fragile mate

I looked around checking to make sure everything was perfectly arranged to prevent any sort of beating or insult from Madam Shiu who was the head of the omegas in the past, I was not an omega but I had to work to feed from the leftovers after the pack members had eaten in order not to starve to death because they will never allow me to be in their midst.

Tonight I have been assigned to arrange the dining table as the alpha was hosting an important dinner he was especially on the edge. I was not certain who was coming but from all the commotion going on, I was sure it had to be another alpha and a powerful one at that one told me anything as I never dared to ask to avoid being insulted as they felt I wasn't worth the waste of breath.

Putting on my hand gloves, I carefully arranged the table so as not to stain or break anything as that would come with severe punishment from Madam and several days of starvation which I must avoid as much as possible as the injuries from last time have not yet healed due to the weak nature of my wolf.

I thought about all the worrying the pack was doing over this meeting, it made me wonder which alpha would be attending it and why. From what I have heard, it was rumored that he was the most powerful and most feared of all alphas. I was so stuck in my head thinking about who it could be that I didn't hear someone entering the dining room.

The hairs on the back of my neck stood up as my whole body tensed, I broke out into a cold sweat and immediately bowed my head as I turned to face him in a submissive position, I clasped my hands behind my back preparing myself for anything.

"H-hello Alpha'' I stuttered, fear completely washing over me. It was the alpha's son who had once tried to have his way with me, but I refused, which resulted in a series of beatings and eventually a broken limb.

Ever since, he has always found wrong in everything I did as a reason to bounce on me, therefore, I avoided him like the plague.

"You better have everything done and not f**k up anything, else nothing will save you from me ''Jason sneered.

Long ago, I was happy with my family being loved and cherished as I was their child, but it all changed when my father was killed by a rogue. My mother could not survive the loss of her mate and she fell into a depression which resulted to her abandoning me at the pack house and running away to live her life while I suffered here at the pack house alone.

I relaxed as soon as he left and turned to the back door as I needed some fresh air.

I walked into my room which was more like a basement, I grabbed some fresh clean clothes and a rag-like towel and headed down the hall to the bathroom looking forward to a shower, due to the aches I felt all over my body. Inside the bathroom, I undid my hair and massaged my head to relieve the pain of having it up tightly. I froze as I saw my reflection in the mirror, or brought tears to my eyes as my once bright blue eyes were now pale and empty as dark bags rested beneath them, my black was greasy and went down to my butt in thick waves from being in a bun all the time. I took off my clothes and looked at my fragile body that resembled a skeleton, No wonder I was so weak, they did the bare minimum when providing for me. All the pack members treated me as if I was dirt under their shoes but Jason and some other pack members were worse they did it for fun

Getting out of the shower, I grabbed a fresh grey dress and slipped it on before packing my hair into a ponytail are a bun after which I slipped into my flats. Heading back to my room, I was stopped pack member who told me to help remove the dishes from the dining table so that dessert could be served.

Upon my arrival in the dining room, I was hit by the most alluring and delicious scent that I have ever smelt as I could feel my wolf dancing in excitement. The closer I got to the scent the stronger it became, as it drew me into a hallucination as I drowned in the scent, the sound of the plates scattering drew me out of my hallucinations as I stood there in shock realizing that the plates. But fallen from my hands as fear took over me, I raised my head to look at the alpha but immediately regretted my action as he was already fuming with anger, I hurriedly closed my eyes anticipating the next punishment or even an immediate slap, but it never came as I slowly opened my eyes to see what was delaying the punishment, I was shocked to see the most terrifying sight before me. I saw the invited alpha with red eyes, canines out as he strangled Jason to the wall.

At that moment, my wolf, who had not spoken to me since I could remember, finally spoke as she said "mate'.I got so overwhelmed as I could not take it all a
