Xavier 'pov

There was a knock on the door to which I replied," Come in, inside came one of my guards to tell me that the cars were ready, after which he scurried faster than he came. I have been invited to dinner by the moon pack as I am the Alpha of the silver crest pack, the richest and the most powerful of all alphas. He invited me as he wanted to discuss ownership of land that he would want in exchange for something I would want which we would discuss over dinner. As soon as I got out of the mansion, I was greeted by James, who is my beta, and Collins, my gamma, who would be escorting me. I got into the car as the chauffeur held out the door.

Dinner started, and I was ushered into the dining room by alpha Colton as soon as we got seated, dinner was served immediately as maids strode in with trays of food. Alpha Colton started stating his proposal as he wanted the land that he owned as he wanted to expand his territory. In exchange, he was willing to give another piece of land which was double the size of the one he wanted, but it was in another area.

I decided to agree to his proposal as it sounded good to me and, Alpha Colton ordered the papers to sign the exchange. He gave me the document to sign as he had already signed his part. I proceeded to sign when an alluring scent hit me which made my wolf feel a rush of excitement as it threatened to take over. This can't be. Before I could see who it was, the smell of sweet lavender entered my nostrils. I felt at ease when I understood what it meant, so I raised my head from the document to see the person who made my heartbeat stop for a minute and my eyes landed on her. She was the most captivating woman I have ever seen. She took my breath away as her beauty enchanted my essence of existence. Her black hair made her stunning blue eyes stand out to tell a story filled with mixed emotions. I studied her facial features carefully and realized she had not noticed me yet. I took a long look at her to notice how skinny and stressed she looked, she was so heavenly and fragile as the urge to hide her in my arms away from everyone's reach. My protective instinct kicked in.

I was about to hold her in my arms when a clattering sound echoed around the dining room, turning all my heads in the direction of my mate, who had dropped the plates and was now shivering in fear, which made me feel nothing but anger at who must have made her this scared. I was about to pull her into my arms and tell her she was safe when an irritating voice stopped me.

"You runt " he screamed as he walked towards her and raised his hands to hit her. But that was all it took for my wolf to take over. As I blocked him before he could get to her, I threw him to the other end of the room like he weighed nothing. I walked towards him as he scurried into the wall. Knowing that my wolf had taken over, I strangled him against the wall, as anger rushed through my veins. How dare he, he had no right to try and harm her. I roared at him, "You dare lay your hand on my mate". I released him and threw him on the floor, leaving him with little or no life in him, as soon as I noticed that my mate had fainted. I rushed towards her carrying her in a bridal style followed by my beta and gamma as the room fell into a pin-drop silence.

I was so angry that I had the urge to crush the whole pack to ground level, but at the moment my mate was my number one priority. As soon as we got on pack ground, I mind-linked the pack doctor to get the private room ready as their Luna was unconscious. I laid her down on the bed, after which I was told to wait outside as she was about to be checked. I began pacing about as emotions that I had long forgotten began running in fear, one of which. After what seemed like centuries, the doctor came out and informed me that my mate had fainted due to malnutrition, stress, and shock. My wolf whined in guilt as I felt a pang of guilt in my heart, making me wish i had gotten to her sooner.

Selene pov

After a while, I tried to lift my eyelids. If I was late, the alpha would surely order the guards to starve and lock me up as punishment, so with all the will I had left in my body, I lifted my lids.

Instead of being met with the usual darkness of my cell, I was met with bright lights. I quickly closed my eyes due to the harshness and pain it caused.

Slowly I opened my eyes, trying to get used to the light. What my eyes saw was a beautiful but dark room.

The walls are a deep warm brown with a brown floor-length curtain, there are two large leather chairs in the corner. I immediately held my head in place as the events of earlier began flooding in.

I instantly started feeling a protruding headache which made me rest my head back on the bed as I felt weak and nervous. I just found my mate. What if he didn't want me?

I was lost in my thoughts when I noticed the door slowly opening as it seemed the person on the other side was trying to get in as quietly as possible. I realized by the smell that the person was already inside, and it was my mate. It made my wolf whine in excitement as she wanted me to go close to him. I could not do that as his presence made me scared and uncomfortable. "

" Goodness, you are so beautiful, what is your name little one," he asked as he made his way to sit next to me with excitement and adornment visibly dancing across his eyes. I tried to speak but could not form words as I tried not to annoy him by saying the wrong words. I always found myself saying, so I stayed quiet.

"Little mate as much as I love to call you such, I would love to call you by your name," he said looking down at me, from here I could notice every single little detail about him.

"As he stepped out of the shadows, the dim light of the room danced across his chiseled features, casting an air of mystery and menace. His piercing blue eyes seemed to bore into my very soul, their intensity making my heart race. His sharp jawline and angular cheekbones framed a face that was both beautiful and terrifying.

His dark hair was mussed, as if he'd just rolled out of bed, but it only added to his allure. A scattering of stubble across his chin and jaw hinted at a rougher edge, a warning that this was a man not to be trifled with.

He stood tall, his broad shoulders and chest straining against the fitted black leather jacket that seemed molded to his body. The silver buckle on his belt gleamed in the faint light, drawing my gaze to the lean hips and powerful thighs that filled out his worn jeans.

There was something primal about him, something that made me feel like he was a predator stalking his prey. Yet, despite the danger that emanated from him, I couldn't help but be drawn to him, like a moth to a flame.

His gaze locked onto mine, and I felt the air suck out of the room. His eyes seemed to hold a thousand secrets, a thousand promises of pleasure and pain. I shivered, my heart pounding in my chest, as he took a step closer, his voice low and husky.

'Am still waiting my love,' he said softly, his words sending shivers down my spine.

Turning away, I knew my face was as red as a tomato. I was cut checking him out that I forgot my name for a minute.

"Selene" I said, but it came more of a whisper, not only because I was afraid to offend him like I always do with everyone around.

He flashed me a million-dollar smile,

"Selene" he said, testing my name on his lips and sending another shiver down my spine, I could forever listen to him say my name.

He took my small hands in his large ones, as I tried so hard to ignore the amazing sparks that went up my arm. He took it to his kissable lips," I am Xavier, but you can call me anything you want too" he winked at me, his smile never leaving his face, causing my face to heat up.

I felt myself shivering at the sound of his voice, darn this mate bond, I thought to myself. "Dinner will be ready in 30 minutes, I will send someone to prepare the bath and bring you some clothes.

With that, he left not before giving me a soft peck on my head as my eyes were, shot tightly because I was too scared to look at him.

A few minutes later, as he earlier said, there was a knock on the door as a maid came in with clothes. At the sight of me, she bowed and went through a door which I assumed led to the bathroom. She later came out of the area and bowed again "Luna, your bath is ready and with that, she turned and left the room. I slowly got up and walked into the bathroom.

My eyes dropped at the sight of the bathroom. This was the most beautiful and fancy bathroom I had ever seen, much better than the ones I had to clean in my old pack. Looking confused at the buttons I couldn't understand, I decided to tap on all the buttons to see what happened and was even more confused as it started foaming on the bottom and at the same time, it was showering from a spray on the top with water. I got terrified and started blocking the shower with my hands, but it was of no use. The once beautiful bathroom was now a mess that was all because of me, I became scared of the punishment that awaited me as I sat at the edge of the bathroom as tears threatened to fall from my eyes, I didn't bother holding it back I let it all out, frustrate
