The Decision That Changed Everything

351 Words
There was a girl named Rebecca. She was born in the state of Florida. She has two brothers named Michael and David. Her mother is a self-employed person, as is her father. My father chose to relocate to another country. My mom warned him not to do such a thing, but he didn't listen. In time, my mom accepted his decision and traveled with him to another place called New York. Upon getting there, my dad stayed at home for some months before he found a job. My mom started working the very next day she arrived. They registered us at St. Bananas School. I was three years old then and started in the crèche. I always followed my brothers to school; they loved me very much. A year after we got to this country, my dad started mistreating my mom and cheating on her. My mom stayed because of us and ignored it. He came home once every two months, and when he did, he only brought trouble. My mom endured all of this because of the love she has for us. One day, while my brothers and I were going to school, I had an accident on my way and was rushed to our house. My mom took me to the hospital and got me treated. I felt so much better the next day, so I was discharged and went to school. In my class, I had three best friends named Grace, Blessing, and Mary. These three girls are so sweet, but one of them always claimed she was older than us and that we should be calling her "Aunty Grace." And yes, we called her that. One of our teachers heard this and asked us why we called her "Aunty." We explained to her, and she took Grace to the principal with us, telling her that we should never call her "Aunty" again. Grace stopped talking to us, and we did the same. Blessing, Mary, and I always got the first, second, and third positions. We always studied very well, and our friendship grew stronger after Grace left.
