What I love most about my friendship with Ty and Shan is that we accept each other - flaws and all. We know that we are not perfect and we understand and respect each other. We may disagree with each other about something, but in the end, we still try to understand each other's points. Last Saturday's discussion didn't end up so well for me, though. After I calmed down, I lost all my energy and didn't really enjoy the movie we were watching. I just slept all through out. So, they decided to go home earlier that afternoon. They were supposed to be staying until Sunday after lunch.
On Sunday, I just slept all day - recharging myself for the coming week.
"Good morning, BB! How are you feeling?" Tyrone asked the moment I entered our classroom. He called me by the nickname he gave me, BB, Baby Blair. He was smiling wide with sparkling eyes. It's as if I didn't ruin our weekend. Shan was still nowhere in sight.
I smiled the same wide smile. I'm not sure about the sparkling eyes. "Better," I answered. I sat next to him. "I'm sorry about -"
Tyrone held my hands. "Never apologize for feeling what you feel, BB. You're human. You're not void of emotions. We totally understand you and we love you," he said.
"Who loves who?" It was Shannon. She hugged me and kissed the top of my head.
"I love the both of you," I said trying to keep my voice from breaking and the tears from falling. But I failed.
Shannon wiped my tears with the back of her hand. "We love you too, BB."
Tyrone stood up and joined in our embrace. "Now, let's stop this drama and start today with happy thoughts!" He reached inside his bag and pulled out three pieces of what looked like concert tickets. "Make sure to clear your Saturday evening." He waved the tickets in front of us. "Because I got us passes for SPAM's show this coming weekend," he said in a sing song voice.
Shan and I gasped. We've been wanting to see SPAM artists perform live. We've watched a lot of spoken poetry performances of the Spoken Poets Association of Manila artists on the internet and we loved every piece. Now that they're having their first live show, we can't just let it pass.
Ty handed us each of our tickets. "OMG, Ty! I love you!" Shan said, obviously couldn't contain her excitement.
"Love you too, Sis," he replied with a flying kiss and a wink. A second later, his expression changed. He pointed his chin toward the door at the back of the room while looking at me.
I heard whispers and giggles as I turned to look at the door. Standing there was Hunter, looking straight at me, smiling. "Excuse me, guys," I told my friends.
"You're excused," they both answered. I walked to the door, aware of the stares and murmurs of my classmates which I ignored.
"Good morning, Blair!" Hunter greeted me enthusiastically.
"Hunter!" I smiled, trying to summon the same energy he's giving. "Good morning! What brought you here?"
His smile widened. "I just wanted to see you. You know, to start my week right." He winked at me. He must have read something during the weekend and he's applying it to me today.
I smiled. "Oh, thanks. I was just thinking about you a while ago, wondering when I'll see you again." Of course that's a lie, which I know he knows.
I heard someone gasp from outside the room. "Hunter Pereira?" The voice sounded surprised. Hunter just smiled and waved his hand. When she reached the room, her eyes still locked on Hunter, she asked, in a flirting voice, "To what do we owe this visit this early in the morning?" She lifted her hand to his left shoulder and let her fingers trail down to his arm.
She seemed to not notice me. "Hi Elsie, good morning!" I greeted her to take her attention from Hunter.
She looked at me from head to foot, then at my face. "Oh, Blair!" She sounded surpised to see me, then she looked back at Hunter. "Bringing your client into the classroom this early in the morning?" Her sweet tone to Hunter disappeared and replaced by a bitter one. She raised her brow at me.
I raised an eyebrow back at her. "Just keep your nose out of somebody else's business, will you?" I said. Then I faced Hunter. I gave him a look that says I told you so. "So?" I waited for him to say something.
Taking my cue, he nodded. "Uhm..." he started. "I'll see you at lunch?"
"Sure. I'm vacant by 11:30," I answered.
"Cool. Me too!" he said. "So, see you at the cafeteria?" he asked.
I nodded. "Same spot," I said. He stuck out both his thumbs in a double okay sign.
"See you later," he said before leaving the room.
I waved as he started to walk away. "See you!"
Shan and Ty looked expectantly at me. "So, when will we watch SPAM's show?" I asked, trying to avoid their questioning eyes.
They're still looking at me when Ty answered, "Saturday, 7:30pm."
"Now, what was that all about?" Shan asked.
"He said he'll see me at lunch," I answered. "I said yes."
"He seems serious about that," Ty commented, referring to my agreement with Hunter.
I laughed. "He's desperate," I corrected. "He really wants to have Kiera back. So I told him to work hard making these people believe we're a real deal."
