Chapter 7
GABRIEL
Seeing Hanna in Dulce's sacred place initially made me angry since no one comes here, but as she explained, my anger subsided. She said she's a little scared by Henry's mischief, but I tried to reassure her, saying it was nothing serious. However, I felt she wasn't well—not that I wanted to know more, but I sensed she was distant, and something about her sparked a certain curiosity in me, but I didn't ask anything. If I'm meant to know, I will.
She left to pick up Henry. Today, I took the day to be with him, even though I left early for a meeting. I soon returned and stayed in the office. No one knew I was there. Henry went to school, and I went to the greenhouse of my late wife to think a little and I found Hanna observing the orchids. I never liked flowers, but Dulce adored them, so she set up her transparent glass greenhouse and cultivated them. After her death, Lucia takes care of them. I only come here when I truly need to.
Hanna seems to be hiding something, but her sad look caught my attention. Maybe I should let it go, or it might be in my head. Despite finding her really beautiful, she probably hasn't experienced much of life, and at the moment, I don't need anyone to teach besides my son.
When Henry arrived, I was still in the greenhouse, but I heard the car noise. Leaving the problems there, I went in to have lunch with my son. I've been distant these days because of a business deal I'm closing. But now I'll have more time to spend with him, especially since the holidays are coming. I wanted to take a trip with him, but I don't know if I'll have time, but I'll do everything to make it happen. The end of the year is approaching, and for his birthday, he will surely want a party.
HANNA
We got home, and Henry went upstairs to change clothes while I went to get his lunch. As soon as he came down, he had a mischievous look.
Hanna: Ready to eat? - I asked, placing his plate in front of him.
Henry: You know, my tummy feels a bit upset, I think I'll go to my room.
Hanna: - I got worried - Are you feeling anything else?
Gabriel: What's going on? - he asks, entering the dining room, and now I noticed he's not in a suit but in jeans and a white Polo shirt, which allowed me to see his muscles for the first time.
'Stop it, Hanna, he's your boss.' I reprimanded myself.
Gabriel: So, what's happening?
Hanna: Henry is complaining of a stomach ache and wants to go to his room.
Gabriel: Is it hurting a lot, son?
Henry: No, dad, but I think I don't want to eat, is that okay?
Gabriel: Of course, you can go up, just call Hanna if you need anything.
Once Henry went upstairs, I headed to the kitchen to eat my simple lunch of rice, beans, minced meat with salad, and fruit juice.
