The Intruder

"I'm sorry, Sevi. All of this is all my fault," was the word that kept coming into my mind. All of this is my fault, and that is the truth. I was already outside the operating room when Bella and Reina arrived. "Megan? Are you okay? Did you get hurt?" Bella asked me as I shook my head. I'm lovely, but Sevi isn't. I looked at the two of them. I began to tear up. "I'm sorry we didn't answer your call. I'm at school, and so is Reina," he explained. I was shaking my head, smiling as my tears dripped. "Sevi's shot because of me. I must be the one to suffer and not him," I said as I cried for a long time. Reina got closer to me and patted my back. "It's not your fault, Megan. He did save you because he knew you were in danger," she says. "That's right, Megan. Please don't blame yourself, but instead, thank him for saving you. Avoid blaming yourself, okay?" Bella said to me. "Thank you; I will." "So, please stop crying." A few more minutes later, I calmed down, and Dad's secretary arrived as well. I was expecting him to come, but no, he only sent his secretary. "Ms. Megan, on behalf of your Dad, I'm here. Your Dad is busy and-" I interrupted what he said. "I know she's not going, but I hope she calls to say hello to me. I'm her daughter. I'm in danger of my life, and it looks like she doesn't care," I scoffed, and turned my back on her. We were just quite nowhere outside the operating room when Sevi's parents suddenly arrived. I immediately stood up and bowed to them. "I'm sorry, Ma'am, Sir. All of this is my fault," I said, but suddenly Eleanor, Sevi's mother, hugged me. "Thank God, for your safety," was the first word that came out of his mouth that touched me. I thought he would be angry with me for what happened to his son. She was patting my back. It was warm, and I could feel her concern for me. "I don't blame you for what happened, Megan. Those men are at fault and not you. Remember that, okay?" I nodded and wiped my tears. We are now waiting for the doctor to come out of the operating room. We were still hoping that Sevi's operation would be smooth and successful. I am not a prayerful person, but at this time. It was my second time to pray. Sevi was the second person I prayed to be well. The first person I prayed for was none other than my mother. She had had surgery back then, which was the first prayer I had done in my whole life. It may be fun for others, but it wasn't for me. The doctor came out, and we immediately stood up and faced him. "How is my son, Doc?" Eleanor asked. "He's fine now. He will be moved to his room later. The bullet didn't hit him badly because it just hit his shoulder, and your son is strong," said the doctor. We sighed in relief and smiled as Eleanor and Noel looked at me. "He's fine now, don't worry," said Noel, who is Sevi's father. Reina got closer to me and smiled, "See, Megan. He's fine now. So, stop blaming yourself, okay?" I nodded my head and smiled at what she said. "I have to go now, Megan. I have class," Bella said goodbye and immediately bowed her head to Sevi's parents. Reina also went with Bella, and we were the only three left here in the hospital. "Megan, what about our company?" Eleanor asked. "It's okay, Ma'am Eleanor; I want to see him wake up before I leave," I said. Sevi moved to his room, and we immediately followed her. Sevi's Dad, Noel, said goodbye first and said he was doing something with their company. Sevi's mother and I were the only ones staying in her room. "You know what, Megan. Sevi was a crybaby when he was young. He always wants me to sleep beside him because he's afraid of ghosts," his mother told me, which made me laugh. "He was kind. Sevi is a loving and caring son. He didn't disappoint us with what we wanted him to do. He always makes us proud, Megan. He's considerate and patient. So, I know he will take care of you when you two get married," his mom said as I stopped her. Of course, we were going to get married, and nothing changed in that plan. "By the way, do you want me for your son?" I asked her, and she smiled. "Who's a parent who wouldn't like you? You're perfect. You have a brain, beauty, and most of all. You're stable, and you can live on your own. That's the very important thing," Eleanor replied. As I look at her, she looks so lovely and alert. I see my mother in her. I immediately felt sad as I remembered my mother. "What's with that long face, Megan?" she asked me. "I just missed my mom," I said in a sad voice. We were talking when suddenly we heard a noise from Sevi. We immediately looked at his bed and saw that he had opened his eyes. We immediately approached him with a smile on our lips. "How are you feeling, Sevi?" his mother asked. "I'm fine, but how is Megan?" that was his first question, and he immediately rolled his eyes and saw me. I was dazed because I didn't know that he was so worried about me. "I'm fine," I replied, but he laughed at me, so I frowned at his behavior. "You have to pay me. My car, my suit, and-" immediately covered his mouth because his mother was in front of us. I blinked my eyes at him to calm him down. "I'll wire it later; I have to go now," I whispered to him and said goodbye to his mother. I hurried out because I was ashamed of what I had said. I thought he was worried about me, but it was different. I was already out of the room while still thinking about what he did to defend me. I took out my phone and sent a message to him that I thanked him for saving me. I was so scared back there to see that blood flowing down his shoulder. I thought he was going to disappear, and I couldn't forgive myself when that happened. I drive back to my house, but I never get out of the car. I was watching from a distance while they were still investigating the entry into my house. I never received a text from Dad, and even he already knew what happened to me, because I was all over the news. I was still inside the car when I suddenly received a call from an international number. I answered it, and my suspicion was correct; it was mom. "Mom?" "How are you? I heard the news; where are you?" I just burst into tears when I heard her voice. I missed her so much that I wanted to go to see her, but she didn't want me to see her because she might have second thoughts and come back here to the Philippines. I silently sob so she can't hear me. My tears slowly fell to my cheeks, "I'm fine, Mom. Don't worry about me. What about you? How are you?" "That's good to hear. I'm also fine," "I want to see you, Mom," she didn't speak until I knew she didn't want to see me, nor even my sister and brothers. "I'll hang up now." "Okay," I leaned back in my car seat and started to cry. I don't want to cry, but I miss her. I really missed her so much. I also want to experience the love of a mother. I have longed for her love every day until now. Back then ... She was still pregnant with Reina, but she didn't pay attention to me because she was always away from home. Both her and Dad were not by my side. Bella was the one who was always there for me, and I'm thankful because she never left me. I grew up without getting any attention from my mother. When I graduated and started my own company, Dad only noticed me there, but it was too late. They got divorced at that time, and I wasn't the only one hurt, as well as Reina, who was very young at the time. The painful memories of my mother come back to me. I never put a grudge at her; all I want is to see her, and I want her to give me a little love. I had already driven to a car wash. I wanted to cry while cleaning my car. That way, no one would see me cry. My car was already inside, and that's where all the pain I was feeling was released. I was crying the whole time while doing a car wash. After the cash wash, I immediately started crying and paid. I left immediately and went to the company. Everyone greeted me when I arrived. I smiled back at them and went to my office. A new writer approached me and said she had a story she wanted my artists to do. We are in the office now, and I can see the nice flow of her story. In the middle of reading the script, I burst into tears. It was all about a son who longed for love from his mother, and I can relate to this story. The writer looked at me as if wondering why I was in tears. "Ma'am, didn't you like it?" she asked me. I shook my head and looked at her, "I love your story. I can feel the pain of the protagonist," I complimented. She smiled at me, "Thank you so much for the compliment, mam. I wanted it to be known to the whole world, and I want to let them know that they don't lose hope and that the person we want to see will be with us, and they will return," she said. I smile at every word she utters. I liked her attitude and the idea of her story. It was unique, something that no one could imitate. "When you put love to your passion, it will become a success," I said to her with a smile. "I never thought that's how you behave, Ma'am Megan. I thought you were like what I saw in the show. You were rude, but I was wrong. You were different." To be continued...
