Running away from home

"Yes, we're good now," I told him. I did not glance to check his reaction. It was awkward, and I know he feels the same way now. I was still standing in front of him when he spoke.

"You can take a seat," I immediately nodded to him and sat down on the chair next to his bed. I immediately saw the scattered papers on his bed which my forehead furrowed. I was wondering what exactly Sevi's job was. I think that was a case file. "Is he a lawyer?" I asked myself with mixed astonishment.

I was looking at him when he noticed I was looking at him, and he also looked in my direction.

"Do you have anything else to say?" he asked.

"What's with those papers?" I asked him, and he immediately looked at what I had taught. He then looked at me with a frown.

"Don't care about that thing. It has no connection with you," Sevi replied. This person is vulgar.

I looked at him and immediately turned away. The way he looked at me, it seemed like there was a different meaning that he wanted to eat me alive. Also, I tried to pick up a paper on his bed because of my stubbornness, but he first held my hand, causing our eyes to meet each other.

"I said don't care about that," Sevi said in a very aggressive tone. I swallowed hard while looking at him closely.

"Why? What are those roles?" I asked again.

"Another question, I'm going to kiss you so you can't anymore question," my eyes widened at what he said. Is he serious? I knew he was hiding something. I looked at him with a frown, "Are you sure about what you're saying, Sevi? I want to know what's in those papers. Are you a lawyer?" I asked again.

"You want it, Megan," was the last thing he said, and he slowly approached me, but I backed away. He smirked and immediately pulled me closer to him. Our lips were inches apart, and I could feel his warm breath. I swallowed at the same time as the loud thump of my chest.

"See? You're nervous, right?" he said and smiled. He released me immediately, and I quickly backed away from him. I bared my teeth while looking at him. How can he do that? He's the first man who makes my chest pound so fast.

"I have to go now," I hurriedly said, and I immediately stood up and started walking. I just saw Sevi laugh before I could get out of his room. I was outside, and directly I touched and checked my heart. It was throbbing so fast that it seemed like it was going to explode with force. I sighed in relief because I avoided his trap.

"That was so close, Megan," I said to myself while shaking my head. I went outside and got in my car. While inside the car, I could still think of the papers on his bed.

"Is he also a lawyer like Leon?" I asked myself. I keep thinking about those papers, and I'm sure it's case files. I also saw Leon's case file once, so I know if the case files are in Sevi's bed. I took my phone out and called a man to gather information about Sevi.

By seven in the evening, I went home, and there was Reina and the guards and helpers inside. They keep us safe, but I don't like them sometimes either. They always look after Reina, who makes her feel annoyed. Reina can't go out lightly because she has bodyguards. I remember that when I was Reina's age, Dad was more strict with me. He always sent a bodyguard to keep me safe, but that wasn't a fun thing. We have no freedom where we want to go. They were always tailing us, and that never stopped until Reina. I pity her.

I saw Reina reading a book in the library inside the house. I thought she was reading, but she wasn't. I heard a sob from her that caught my attention. I looked at her with a frown and approached her. I was behind Reina, and I could listen to her every sob.

Her tears were falling on the table as she was reading the book. She was covering her face so she wouldn't be seen crying. All I know, Reina only cried once, and I'm not used to seeing her like that. I went closer to her.

"Hey, why are you crying?" she immediately stopped crying and wiped away the tears.

"No. I was crying because of what I was reading," Reina replied, but it was a mathematics book when I turned my attention. Who would cry when reading Math? That's absurd to think of.

"You can't fool me, Reina. Look, you're reading Math, and the book is upside down," I said, and she immediately turned it over. I grabbed the book and took it from her.

"What happened?" I asked her.

"It's nothing, Megan,"

"Please, tell me what happened?" she sighed and looked at me.

"Dad found out," I frowned.

"Found out about what?"

"I'm seeing someone, Megan," my eyes widened as she said it.

"Wait, what? Why didn't you tell me?" I asked her in surprise.

"I was about to, but Dad said I should stop seeing him. I liked him a lot Megan," Reina said, and I could see she did like the man she was saying. The way she smiles as she talks about him, I can see Reina is happy.

"Don't stop, Reina. I know Dad is doing that for you, but I want you to experience it. Experience loving someone or being loved by someone. I never felt that, Reina. So, it would be best if you did not stop seeing him," I said to her, which caused her to smile that reached her ears. Her eyes went teary while looking at me.

She then hugged me tightly. "You're the best, Megan. Thank you for understanding,"

"I always do understand you," I said as I patted her back.

The energy returned immediately to her face, and she said goodbye as she went to sleep. I was shaking my head because I just laughed at what reason she gave me. I picked the Math book and put it back on the shelf.

I immediately went to the living room, and I turned the television on, and the case that Leon was handling directly opened up to me. I was amazed at what I saw.

"Leon's losing the case? Why?" I said while watching the news. I was watching when the man who I commanded to gather information about Sevi called me out of a sudden.

"Hello? Did you find something?"

"Yes, Ma'am. He's a prosecutor, and he handles the case which your brother is the lawyer of the suspect," I was surprised to find out. I looked back at the television, and Leon was attacked with nasty comments from people who made them angry because that suspect is supposed to be innocent, but Leon lost the case. I don't know yet what's going on, but I only know one thing. Dad was in danger. Maybe someday, Sevi will know everything Dad does, and I don't want that to happen. I was worried for Leon; I went out of the house and immediately went to his place.

I was outside his house, but the lights inside were turned off. I sighed, and maybe he's sad and wants to be alone again. This is the second case that he lost, and I know if Dad is disappointed in him again. I rang the doorbell.

"Who is that?"

"Leon, It's Megan. We need to talk,"

"I'm not in the mood to talk right now, Megan,"

"But-,"

"Please leave me alone for now," I lowered my shoulders, and I understood how he was feeling right now. I walked away and got back in the car. Since there was nothing I could do and force him, I had better leave him alone first and let him think about everything.

I went back home, and I was surprised when Dad was in the living room already. I was walking closer to the living room when Dad suddenly spoke.

"Where have you been?" Dad asked me angrily. I faced him, "I went to Leon's, Dad. I saw the news about the case and-"

"I've heard enough, Megan. And I found out that Sevi is the Prosecutor of the case. Aren't you mad at him? Your brother lost because of him," he said.

"Dad, Sevi saves my life and his profession it doesn't-"

"That's enough, Megan. Don't cancel the marriage. We can use him to-"

"Dad, enough of that. I've done enough, and I don't want to do such things again," I said to him, which caused him to be mad at me.

"Don't you think, Megan? Everything I do is for all of you!" he growled at me. I lowered my shoulder and sighed.

"Yes, Dad. That's what you always say, but have you thought of what you're doing? Is everything really for us? Or for yourself?" I couldn't help but answer him.

He sighed and blazing with fire inside. "How dare you!" Dad shouted and slapped me. It was the first time I answered him, and he hit me. My cheeks turned red as Dad hit me.

"How dare you answer me? This is your first time talking back at me, Megan. I'm warning you," he said.

I scoffed, "Dad, I'm not a kid anymore. I can live on my own. Don't you think I can't?"

I didn't notice Reina was upstairs and was staring at us. I saw her tearing up while looking at me. I shook my head for her not to go near me.

"Dad, I've done everything for this family. I've done everything to protect you," his eyes widened, and he looked at me with confusion.

"What are you saying, Megan?" he asked me, but when I saw Reina looking at me with teary eyes. I can't spit it out.

"Let's talk later, Dad,"

"Why?"

"Let's talk in private," I said, and I turned my back on him.

"You want to get out of this family, right?" he asked me.

"Yes, because you are too much, Dad," I said as I started to walk.

"Megan... If you get out of this house. Don't forget that you have left this family as well," said Dad. I looked back at him with a smile.

"Don't forget that I warned you, Dad. I did everything to protect you and not to hurt you. But you're the only one who brings yourself closer to disaster," were the words I let out and started walking, but suddenly Reina ran towards the bottom of the stairs and looked at me with teary eyes.

"Megan! Don't leave me!" she shouted in a weeping, weeping voice. I looked at her as I was stopping my tears from falling onto my eyes. I can't let my Dad see me cry. I don't want to look weak in front of him.

"I'm sorry, Reina. I have to go now," I uttered and bowed my head as I left. I can still hear Reina crying from outside. I sobbed as silently as I could when I went inside my car. I looked back at the house and knew how painful it was to leave Reina, and I had to stand up for all the words I had said to Dad.

I started the engine and went to a bar. I want to drink and bring out all my resentment towards my Dad. He never understands me. He says everything he does is for us, even if it wasn't. It's for his greed, and that's all matter to him—his position. I was outside the bar, and I went out of the car.

"Good evening, Ma'am. Welcome to Dino's bar," I went inside, and I could hear the loud noises coming from the bar. I rent a small private room to drink all by myself inside.

I was already in the small room I rented and immediately put in the drinks I ordered.

I started to drink. I even finished the whole bottle by myself, so I was dizzy from the drunkenness. I heard the ringtone on my phone, and suddenly I started dancing. I was still laughing while dancing, and after that, I began to cry.

I was sobbing as I caught up with the music from the bar.

"Wohoo!" I cried out because of the excitement I felt.

I stopped when suddenly someone called my cellphone again. I was dizzy when I looked at the name of the caller. "Who is this?"

"Where are you?" I suddenly hiccup due to drunkenness. My eyes were already closed as I spoke to the caller.

"Are you drunk, again?" his voice was familiar, but I could no longer remember who he was.

"Megan, It's me, Sevi. Where are you?" I smiled when I heard his name.

"Sevi? The man with the bad temper?" I asked in a drunken voice.

"Oh. I remember you now. You're that man who was about to marry me, right?" I asked him with laughter.

"You're drunk. Where are you? Reina's worried about you," he said.

"I know. Reina's worried about me. I ran away from home because of Dad. He nags every time, and it seems like I haven't done anything good. Haven't I?" I said in a drunk voice.

"Where are you? I'll come to pick you up,"

"Dino... D-Dino's..." that was the last thing I said as I fell asleep.

Meanwhile, Sevi was still in the hospital as he removed his dextrose and hurriedly he went out. He saw a taxi pull over and get in. Sevi was still recovering, but he was doing this for Reina. Earlier, Reina called him and asked for a favor.

Earlier...

Sevi was still in bed, still recovering when he received a call from Reina.

"Reina? What is it?"

"It's about Megan,"

"Why?"

"They argued with Dad. She ran away from home. Can you do me a favor? Find her?"

Sevi was already outside Dino's bar, and he went inside. He was looking around the place as he could hear the loud music in the surroundings.

"Hey handsome, wanna dance?" a sexy chic came close to Sevi while dancing in front of him. Sevi looks at her in disgust. "No. I'm looking for someone," he said as he continued to walk. Sevi sighed as he couldn't see Megan around.

He was about to go out when a small private room door was open. Sevi was hoping that could be Megan's room. "Let's give it a try," Sevi utters as he goes closer to the room.

Sevi was almost there when a man came in, and then he had a glimpse of Megan inside the room. "s**t!" he cursed as the man went in. Sevi hurriedly ran towards her room.

The man was about to carry Megan out when the door suddenly opened. The man looked at Sevi. "Who are you?"

Sevi smirked, "Take your filthy hands off, my girl," he said. The man chuckles while looking at Sevi.

"Oh, No. I came in first. You should wait for your turn," Sevi clenched his fists while looking at the man. "You're going to regret this," the man was still laughing at Sevi, but he punched him really hard.

"You!" the man uttered as he looked at Sevi badly.

"Come on, Man. Fight me like a real man," Sevi uttered teasingly.

The man stood up and clenched his hands. He stretches his neck and immediately rushes to Sevi, but luckily Sevi avoids it. Sevin then took the opportunity to punch the man and knock him down. People were also shocked at the fight they saw between the two of them.

Unexpectedly, Sevi was punched in the shoulder with a stitch due to his surgery. He immediately held his shoulder, and the man was about to hit him when suddenly the police approached the man and arrested him. The man has been wanted for a long time because he escaped from prison.

"Sir, are you okay?" a policeman asked Sevi, and he nodded and immediately bowed so as not to be recognized. He also wear a cap to hide his identity.

Sevi was still holding his shoulder as he walked in Megan's direction. He had random pain in his wound, but he continued to go to Megan.

"Megan ..." he woke up to the drunk woman. He shook her lightly to wake her up, but Megan did not wake up. Megan was sound asleep, which caused Sevi to scratch his head.

He sighed and immediately lifted Megan. Megan moved and wrapped her hands around his neck. "Who are you?" she closed her eyes while asking the question.

"Hold on. We're going home," Sevi replied as he walked out. He then looked and found her car and slowly put her inside the car. Sevi stretches his arms because Megan is a little heavy. He was shaking his head while looking at the girl inside the car. He then bent down and was about to put on the seatbelt on Megan when her head suddenly moved towards Sevi's direction, which caused their lips to meet. Sevi could hear the throbbing of his chest while their lips were still intact.

Sevi backed away after a few more seconds, quickly put the seatbelt on Megan, and immediately closed the door. His cheeks were red as he shook his head. Sevi's chest was still pounding as he looked at Megan, who was inside the car. He could not believe what had happened.

"This woman!" he cursed and touched his lips. "That was my first kiss. She stole it just like that," annoyed Sevi said 

"What should I do with this woman?"
