The goddess stared into Lucius’ eyes for what felt like a long while. Then she spoke. “What is important, is that your family is safe, thanks to you,” she said. “And our horses are safe thanks to you, lady,” Lucius whispered. He could feel her close and, unable to stare into her brilliant eyes any longer, he closed his own. Epona looked upon the mortal man before her, she felt the temptation to lean in and press her lips to his, but she did not.
