The bald man, upon hearing Anabelle's announcement, brimmed with excitement. Like a starved wolf, he swallowed eagerly and patted his thigh invitingly, inviting Anabelle to sit on it. Anabelle boldly brushed away Noah's hand, gracefully approaching the bald man.
A hint of mystery flashed in his eyes, and a subtle danger brewed in Noah's gaze.
Anabelle took a different seat. The bald man didn't forcibly pull her into an embrace, yet he couldn't resist the temptation to indulge in a touch. His fingers grazed Anabelle's hand while he poured her a glass of wine, urging, "Come on!"
Anabelle contemplated refusing, but as she noticed Noah appearing indifferent, she bravely downed the entire glass.
Noah, with lowered eyes and an icy demeanor, remained silent.
"How soft!" the bald man complimented as he playfully pulled down Anabelle's collar, revealing her alluring shoulders that captured every man's attention.
Noah raised an eyebrow, concealing his emotions.
"You shall explore her. I believe you'll be surprised," he leisurely suggested, observing Anabelle, hoping she'd seek his protection. Yet, she persevered, not granting him even a fleeting glance.
Now he was the one panicked.
When Anabelle finally met Noah's gaze, she was leaning into the bald man, softly proposing, "Shall we go to one of the rooms inside? It's quite noisy here!"
Clearly taken aback, the bald man chuckled heartily, nodding in agreement. He clasped her waist, leading her toward one of the rooms in the box.
The room, unfortunately, lacked soundproofing. Soon the amorous sounds echoed in the room.
People in the box discreetly left, leaving Noah alone, struggling with his conflicted feelings.
"Harder!"
That familiar tone reverberated through Noah's brain with a powerful impact and then unleashed his possessiveness.
Anabelle was his woman! No one could lay a finger on her!
He walked to the door of the room and forcefully kicked it open. To his surprise, the scene inside was nothing like what he imagined.
The bald man was all tied up, and Anabelle, though flushed, remained composed and impeccably dressed.
Noah knew he was right.
Anabelle never failed to surprise him.
"What? Did you expect to find him on top of me?" the girl asked, her voice trembling, clearly influenced by some substance.
At that moment, she yearned to distance herself from Noah, the familiar urge making her heart race.
She started to walk away but collided with someone entering the room, Faith.
"Anabelle Blair?"
Faith scrutinized Anabelle and then her gaze landed on Noah behind her.
She panicked because the number she contacted that day sent her a bunch of paparazzi photos--all scenes of Noah and Anabelle leaving his villa together.
Faith put on a cold face.
Looking at the woman outside the door, Noah asked, "What are you doing here?"
Faith raised a box of alcohol and replied, "Bringing you some drinks."
"Unfortunately, you're a bit late," Noah remarked.
Faith looked at both of them and inquired, "Noah, what's happening to Ms. Blair?"
Noah shrugged. "Ask her. Why would I know?"
Anabelle sensually licked her dry lips, casting a glance toward the room where the bald man was. "That man was here to have dinner with Mr. Evans, and I'm his plus one."
Taken aback, Faith furrowed her brows. "Plus one? Aren't you a makeup artist?"
Noah chuckled dismissively, "Why confine a woman's talents to just makeup? She can be good in more than one domain."
His smile, alluring and debonair under the glow of the lights, had a softening effect on many.
However, in Anabelle's eyes, it transformed into the visage of a fearsome demon.
Understanding Noah's unspoken message, Faith chose to remain silent.
As the intoxicating effects of the substance unfolded, Anabelle found it increasingly challenging to maintain composure.
"I should go," she declared, her steps quickening. Or she didn't know what would happen next as the effects kicked in.
Yet, Faith's voice floated from behind. "Ms. Blair, it's getting late. Allow us to provide you with a ride."
Anabelle paused, her vision slightly blurred. She turned away, shielding her disheveled state from Faith, and softly replied, "That's so nice of you two."
It seemed to be the most sensible choice. Anabelle couldn't risk losing control of her desires in the presence of an unfamiliar male driver. It was simply too risky.
Noah's gaze lingered on Anabelle's slender legs trembling beneath the elegant black dress, the burning intensity in his eyes revealing a blend of passion and longing.
